Most painful loss you've experienced as a fan?
Since you've been actively following the NBA what's the most painful loss you've experienced? The one loss that was an absolute shot to the gut, knock you to your knees type loss that took you a long time to get over?

Game 6 vs Pacers 2013. Melo got blocked by a 7-2 dude who once went 0pts 0reb in a game and then it was all over. Sad ending for the greatest team in NBA history.
it's only after we've lost everything that we are free to do anything

In no particular order but not all our actual game losses
- Warriors not getting the #1 pick in 2002? The Yao Ming draft.
- Game 7 of 2016 NBA Finals to Cavs
- Trading JRich for Brandan Wright.
Just to name a few.

Raptors haven't played in too many big games in their existence to really have a game that stands out... Maybe Game 7 against the Sixers, where Vince missed the game winner.

2009 NBA finals. Ripped my heart out. Still feel like that series should've been a lot closer.
Courtney Lee missed lay up game 2.
Managed to lose game 4 after being up 5 with like 30 seconds left.
It hurts man it hurts.

Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals. What a robbery. It's up there with 2002 Lakers-Kings Game 6 of the WCF.
Handsome.

2002 playoffs
Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

I was in Boston (went to college at BU) and watched that game surrounded by Celtics fans.
I was at game 6 and everyone was shouting to watch Tim Thomas and that dagger still hurts.
everything felt better after game 7 in 2010 tho

Re: Most painful loss you've experienced as a fan?
As far as actual games are concerned:
- Losing 7 of our last 10 games in 2002 to narrowly miss the playoffs, setting up the disastrous Andre Miller trade.
- Game 5 vs. Phoenix, 2006: The Daniel Ewing Game.
- The Broken Water Main Game against Memphis in 2010. We went from being up 12 with seconds to go in the third quarter to blowing the lead and losing once the game finally resumed... and then the news broke that Blake would be getting season-ending surgery. And the team never recovered that season. Easily the saddest I've ever felt about a regular season game.
- Being the team that snapped the Cavs' then-historic losing streak in 2011.
- Game 5 vs. OKC, 2014: the moment I finally had to admit that CP3 wasn't just "unlucky" in the playoffs and there was some truth to the "choker" label.
- Game 6 vs. Houston, 2015: do I really have to explain this one?
Other:
- Losing Danny Manning to a torn ACL 26 games into his rookie season.
- Losing Elton Brand in free agency after he verbally committed to return to the Clippers. It turned out fine for us in the end, but at the time, it really sucked.
- Losing the #1 pick in the draft to the Cavs because of Olshey's idiotic Baron Davis salary dump.
