I'm not even sure there's another Carmelo in this class, let alone a Lebron.

Any class with two MVPS is damn good.

this will be a good draft in terms of the amount of players that will stick in the nba beyond their rookie deal. A lot of depth like 03, but not the star player power

I like this draft class quite a bit but there's no Lebron in there. 4 HOFers will be tough to match too but 6 allstars is definitely attainable.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

There was no generational talent in this draft and therefore no comparison but it will be one of the better ones and possibly the best one of the past decade or so just in terms of depth.

It's way too early to say that. Nobody was saying Jordan, Kobe or Curry were going to be generational talents before they got on the court either. That's part of what makes the draft so crazy. Sometimes you're going to get a generational star at 3, 13, or 7.

Don't sleep on some of the other guys. Jrue Holiday made an All-Star team. Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson and Tyreke Evans got off to awesome starts but fell off for various reasons. Lots of good role players too. Taj Gibson, James Johnson, Demarre Carroll, Darren Collison, Dejuan Blair, Patty Mills, Danny Green and Patrick Beverly all came out of that draft.

Wes Matthews and Joe Ingles both went undrafted that year too. Just shows how deep the field was.

What's funny, is that it was considered a really weak draft at the time.

There is a transcendent, generational talent in this draft class

But he hasn't been mentioned in this thread..

Lauri Markkanen

(at least I hope so)

i'm really high on this draft class, which is probably a combination of weaker recent draft classes and (potential) immediate impact of this one. a number of guys coming in are going to have the keys right away, it's going to be fun.

also think the face of the game is changing with some of the older heads declining / retiring and the emergence of pace and space which lends itself to new stars taking over.

One of the most entitled people to give an opinion on this subject, legendary 2003 class member Dwade has spoken and he seems to approve of this sentiment.

No Lebron/wade type talent. Zo has a chance to be special though.

There is no generational talent but the similarity ( if there is one) would be that similar to 03, you could have taken DWade, Melo or Bosh in any order and no one would have thought you were making bad choices. They all had top talent.
In this class, the argument could be made that you could take Lonzo, Tatum, Dennis Smith or Fultz in any order and still end up with an allstar level player who has a very lengthy career.
I do not think any of the above will become NBA legends, but every one of them has a chance to be special and help their franchises become contenders and keep the league competitive over the coming years.
