The fake Souvlaki you find abroad is trash, it literally bears no resemblance to the greek stuff.

Souvla is a Cypriot dish. Imagine oversized souvlaki from pork, chicken or lam.
By the way if you ever find "ofton kleftiko" will be the best day of your life. You will eat it and you will die in a few hours from cholesterol explosion

I took this thread seriously at first but after 3 pages it fulfilled its purpose. These posts are exactly what i would expect to hear in a greek traditional cafe in which there's a table occupied by a few Australian tourists.

What is the difference between an Australian wedding and an Australian funeral?
One less drunk at the funeral
One less drunk at the funeral

Think the main thing to take away here is that Giannis is better than Spanoulis.

Though it should be noted that all varieties of vertically cooked foods are delicious.

Re: The Greek National Team thread
I know we are a little off-topic, I really have to say though that I love Aussies. Four years ago, three of my closest friends had to immigrate to Australia due to the crisis here. Both the Australian-Greek community in Melbourne as well as the general population were supportive, and they managed to get back on their feet pretty quickly, with hard work and a positive mentality.
Went to visit them last summer, and instantly fell in love with both the city and the aussies too. They are fun, easygoing people with a terrific mentality. If the ticket prices were better, I would certainly find myself visiting every year or so.

Yeah absolutely. After 12 years in Melbourne and coming from Greece I can say that love Aussies too, they're by far the best thing about this place. I absolutely hate all their governments though, I think they're letting their people down big time and will eventually destroy this country. Not as bad as Greece which is the absolute worst in that regard, but crap nonetheless.
Oh yes and another thing: aussies can't drive. Just can't LOL

Re: The Greek National Team thread
No you don't understand, the average Greek can physically drive, he just doesn't give a **** about the law or safety. That's a different problem altogether.
In Australia people can't drive. If the road is wet they freak out, if they have to reverse they freak out, if they need to manoeuvre in tight spaces they freeze, if anything is closer than 2m from the car they freak out LOL
Most people have no clue where their car starts and where it ends, and it doesnt help them that they love to buy huge cars.
Also if you have a car with stick shift (not auto) you practically have the best anti-theft system because nobody can drive it LOL
Greeks are used to driving on the crappy Greek roads, avoid all sorts of obstacles without slowing down, and squeeze and park in the tightest spots imaginable. Because that's how our cities are, and the police is largely absent. Aussies are used to huge spaces, optimal conditions and super low speed limits with cameras and/or cops everywhere. Anything less and... they freak out LOL

Re: The Greek National Team thread
Since we are giving love to the Aussies, can I just say the greatest import of all time by the Aussies, are their WOMEN! OMG!
Everytime I have a favorite new actress she turns out to be an aussie!
Margo Robbie, Teresa Palmer, Rachel Taylor, Yvonne Strahovski, Gemma Ward.

Palmer seems to pop out kids every 9-12 months and still manages to look friggin amazng.

How the **** are they all so perfect!?!?!

The prospect of being eaten by a mermaid never seemed so appealing before.
Doesn't even include: Rose Byrne, Isabel Lucas, Naomi Watts, Isla Fisher, Nicole Kidman, Kylie Minogue, Emily Browning, Miranda Kerr, Elle Macpherson, Emilie De Ravin, Peta Murgastroyd, Eliza Taylor, and some many friggin more.
The list never ends!
Even those youtube aussie chicks are hot:
Just never stop PLEASE! It's one of the greatest exports in the history of mankind.
