Re: (B-A-T 9.0) The Pimp Stick and Trade Block.
Welcome your 2013-2014 Dallas Mavericks!!!
At PF 6'11 out of Georgia Tech, Chris Bosh!!!!!

Chris is a versatile 6'11 Forward who also has the ability to play Center. Chris is an 8x all star and a proven player in this league who can rebound, score, and play defense. Chris has shown that he can carry a team offensively if need be but has also shown great unselfishness. Chris will be a major piece on this team and will be expected to be the second featured scorer in the Dallas Mavericks offense.
At SF 6'8 out of Syracuse, Carmelo Anthony!!!!!!!

Carmelo is one of the top offensive players in this league. On the Dallas Mavericks he will be the main cog on the offense. Known for coming up big in the Clutch, Carmelo is eager to prove that he can take a team to the next level and win a title. The Dallas Mavericks are the most talented team Melo has ever played with.
At C 7'0 out of Lithunia, Jonas Valanciunas!!!!

Jonas is only 21 and is widely considered one of the more talented up-and-coming centers in the league. Jonas had a strong rookie season where he showed very solid fundamentals especially defensively. On the Dallas Mavericks we hope to continue to build on the foundation Jonas has already laid. Jonas main function on the team will be to defend the paint and basket and be a presence on the boards. We will continue to develop his offensive game.
At PG 6'2 out of Wake Forest, Jeff Teague!!!

Jeff is a player who has steadily improved in every facet of his game since his rookie season. In particular Jeff has improved his playmaking and passing abilities dramatically. Jeff is fast and one of the toughest guards to cover at his position. Already a naturally talented scorer, we are confident that he can continue to improve and we feel he is on the precipice of taking his game to the next level. On defense Jeff is a solid man-to-man defender and has shown a knack for getting steals. Jeff will be expected to be the third featured offensive player on this team and he will have the responsibility of directing the offense. He will also be counted on to provide a spark and change the tempo of the game.
At SG 6'6 out of Washington, Quincy Pondexter!!!

Quincy has been a solid contributor in his time in the league. At only 25, Quincy is still young and will improve. Quincy has excellent size for his position and is also able to play the SF position. Quincy's main focus on this team will be to hit open 3 pointers and play good defense. Playing with a talented roster, Quincy will have plenty of opportunities to flourish in this role.
HC Scott Brooks!!!!

Scott is a former player who was known for his "scrappyness." Scott's knowledge of the league as a former player and a point guard will be of great aid to our young players like Teague, Pondexter, Thabeet, Barton, and Valenciunas. Scott is already recognized as one of the best young coaches in the league. He has already scratched the surface of greatness and he hopes to continue to build on his already impressive resume.
Bench: The bench is a mix of veterans and young players. Louis Williams and Lamar Odom will be expected to lead the bench unit.
G Louis Williams is recognized as one of the better six-men in the league and is a capable ballhandler with a low turnover rate. Williams is currently recovering from ACL surgery and will likely not be at full strength until late in the season. We expect Louis to be playing his best basketball late and to be a big part of our playoff push.
F/G Alonzo Gee is an athletic 2-way player who provides a lot of versatility on both ends. Able to guard a variety of positions. Gee has improved his scoring the last few seasons. His defense and slashing ability will be very useful off the bench.
PF Ivan Johnson is an up-and-coming physical defender and rebounding machine. We expect big things out of Ivan and are very excited to have him on the team.
C/PF Josh McRoberts is a reliable bench option or complimentary starter at C/PF positions. McRoberts is a capable post defender and can also provide rebounds and a shot blocking presence.
SG Will Barton finished his rookie year in a strong fashion. Barton needs to continue to improve his shooting and defense. Barton will need to add size but has a very promising future. Barton is a capable natural scorer and will be counted on to provide some scoring punch off the bench until Louis Williams finishes recovering from an ACL injury.
G Darius Morris will be counted on to pick up some of the weight while Louis Williams recovers. Morris will be counted on to distribute and be the main backup PG until L. Williams finishes recovering. That being said we will keep things simple for Morris as he is only a 2 year vet and is still learning. Having an experienced vet like Lamar Odom on the floor with him will greatly aid Morris. At 6'4-6'5 Morris has excellent size for his position and is capable of defending both guard positions.
SF/SG James Jones is a proven shooter and a former 3-point shooting contest champion. Jones got lost in the shuffle on the Miami Heat playing behind Ray Allen, Mike Miller, and Shane Battier but he is a proven shooter and a solid defender. Jones will be counted on to provide depth and a quality shooting option when called upon.
Rest of Bench: Hasheem Thabeet (C) improved impressively under the helm of Brooks at OKC and showed that he could be a very effective backup center and shot blocking presence in the league. Thabeet just barely missed the cut of making the rotation but will have an opportunity to fill in as he will be the first choice off the IR. Gelabale (F) is an experience Euro player, who is an efficient scorer who has showed that he can fill in for a hurt player and be effective in limited minutes. Elliot Williams (SG) is a talented 2 who has not been able to stay healthy since he was drated in 2010, this pickup was of the low-risk potentially high reward variety.
Overall: The Dallas Mavericks are one of the more balanced offensive teams in the league and are built for a deep playoff run. They will feature a strong halfcourt offense that will also have the ability to get out and finish well in transition. Jeff Teague taking the next step and getting Louis Williams healthy will be a big key to unlock the full potential of this offense. Defensively the Mavericks are solid and will need players like Valenciunas, Pondexter, Gee and Ivan Johnson to make their presence felt in order to put the clamp down when need be. Bench depth could be an issue for this team if players like Will Barton and Darius Morris don't continue to improve or Louis Williams is unable to recover.

New York Knicks

Head Coach
Geroge Karl (2012-2013 Coach of the year, Career Record 1,131-756. .668%)

Rotation
PG Conley(35)/Price(8)/Mayo(5)
SG Mayo(30)/Ginobili (18)
SF Leonard (33)/Beasley (10)/Ginobili (5)
PF Jamison (22)/Davis (22)/ Beasley (4)
C Jordan (24)/ Hill (19)/ Turiaf(5)
Point Guard

Mike Conley: Conley might be a step behind the "elite" point guards in the nba but he has everything youd want from the position. He is a true floor general who knows how to control the temp and pace of the game and use it to his teams advantage. While hes not the playmaker or scorer that some of the players taken before him are, he is very quick with the ball in his hands and has good vision and knows where to find his team mates. Conley is a good shooter and can score when need be but that is not where he flourishes. Conleys best attibutes are those as a defender. Conley is the definition of a ball hawk ranking 3rd in steals and is an elite defender as evidenced by his all defense second team.
Shooting Guard

OJ Mayo: Mayo entered college heralded as the next Kobe. He went on to be a lotto pick out of USC but has widely dissapointed since entering the league. This is mostly due to unrealistic expectations, but Mayo had his best season of his career in Dallas this year. He averaged 15 ppg on 46% shootin and 41% from 3. However before Dirk returned to the lineup he was averaging nearly 20 ppg on 47% shooting. Mayos struggles came when he was relegated to sixth man duty, so as the number one scoring option in the starting lineup he should produce similar numbers to those he had with dallas before dirk returned. Mayo is a good scorer and shooter and also not a bad defender, especially for what he gives you on offense. Mayo is also capable of bring the ball up the court and setting up the offense and he will see spot minutes at the point throughout the season.
Small Forward

Kawhi Leonard: Kawhi Leonard has been nothing short of impressive since coming out of san diego state 2 years ago, especially in this years NBA Finals. An athletic specimen, Leonard has channeled his physical abilities into becoming a fantastic defender with a knack for playing the passing lanes. He has a great basketball IQ and always seems to be in the right spots and knows how to play off the ball and those around him He is also an elite rebounder for his position and has developed a reliable 3 point jumper to help space the floor (37% 3pt). While he is not much of a ball handler or scorer, slashing into the lane and scoring on tips and off of offensive rebounds, what he brings in ever other aspect of the game makes him one of the most special and promising young players in the league.
Power Forward

Antawn Jamison: Jamison remains one of the better veterans in the league. At age 37 he avaeraged 9 points and nearly 5 board in 21 mpg for the lakers. He also shot well from both the field and from 3. Jamison will provide floor spacing while still grabbing boards, and has a variety of post moves that he can go to. While hes certainly lost a step he is still a very efficient player who could also be a great role model for beasley who has a similar play style as a big 3/stretch 4.
Center

Deandre Jordan: Young and incredibly athletic Jordan has yet to rach his potential. He will most likely never develop into an offensive threat, but his sheer size and leaping ability will allow him to be an effective player wherever he is. Jordan is a good post defender and shot blocker who isnt afraid to get dirty. He will be the intimidator down low, making players think twice about driving into the paint. On offense Jordan wont do much but he can finish alley oops as well as most any player in the league, and the wow factor he brings to the table cant be over looked. No one wants to end up like brandon knight.
Bench:

Manu Ginobili: Manu remains one of the elite sixth men in the league despite getting up there in years. Averaging 11.8 points 3.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game in just 23 minutes is impressive. Manu is a crafty scorer who also gets his team mates involved and can handle being the playmaker when conley is not in the game. Having a 6th man of his caliber is a huge bonus to any team, being able to relieve pressure from the starting unit. Manu is also a great 3 point shooter and excels in crunch time. He had a rough final series but he should return to the Manu of old when a new season begins.

Glen Davis: Davis is on this team to provide scoring down low. A tough finisher with a soft touch around the basket he is proabably best suited in a bench role due to his love for shooting the ball. Davis would be a much more efficient player if he learned to move the ball better but what he does, he does well. A good scorer in the paint with a nice mid range jumper, and an under rated ability to rebound makes big Baby a very nice bench piece.

Jordan Hill: Hill was without a doubt drafted way too high. He has developed into a very good bench player though providing hustle rebounding and shot blocking at the 4 and 5 position. Playing limited minutes his offensive limitations will not be a problem and he will help maintain the interior defense.

Michael Beasley: Super Cool Beas has without a doubt been a disappointment since entering the league. Coming out of Kansas State Beasley seemed destined for stardom as an elite scorer and rebounder. However since reaching the NBA he has underwhelmed, his outstanding talent not being enough alone to get by like he did in college. If Beasley ever lived up to his potential he would be a 20 and 8 kind of guy but that window is all but shut. That doesnt mean however that he cant be an effective player. Beasley has been asked to do too much too early, playing for a lot of terrible teams but Beasley stil has a knack for scoring and in the right situatuion with the right coach he could be a great role player. Beasleys minutes will be limited and his role will simply be to score when the opportunity arises and stretch the floor. Being surrounded by an experienced team with an experienced coach should help keep him in check. A lot of people might not think of Karl as the right fit but hes got the most out of Carmelo and JR both of whom had reputations for being talented but lazy and troublemakers.

AJ Price:Price is the perfect option for a backup point guard. He lacks burst and explosiveness but he knows how to handle pressure and does not turn the ball over ranking 4th in the league in assist turnover ratio. He is also a solid 3 point threat who can keep defenses honest.

James Johnson: Johnson is one of the best hustle players in the league. He is great defensively, is smart, knows how to move the ball, and can rebound. He has to play limited minutes because he is a bad shooter and not much of a scorer but he managed to average nearly a steal and a block in only 15 mpg. Johnsons ability to contribute across the board as well as do the things that dont show up on the stat sheet will be a nice bonus for this team.

Ronny Turiaf: The ultimate cheer leader, Turiaf will have very limited minutes due to his injury concerns. In thos 5 minutes though you can expect plenty of energy, emotion and shotblocking making him a great choice for the last slot in the rotation.

Re: (B-A-T 9.0) The Pimp Stick and Trade Block.

The Coach

David Fizdale
Give Erik Spoelstra the slightest opening and he’ll gush about the impact Fizdale has had as a stabilizing force, teacher and communicator in the circus environment that’s enveloped the Heat over the past three seasons. Fizdale has been instrumental in the evolution of LeBron James’ post game, as well as the feeding and caring of the Heat’s superstar core. When there are new schemes to be implemented or skills to be refined, Fizdale takes it upon himself to make sure the work gets done.
There are a dozens of assistants in the NBA who are certified basketball brainiacs, but few of them have Fizdale’s combination of acumen and capacity to relate to NBA players, despite having never played in the league.
“[Fizdale] grew up hard and fought to get to where he is,” says another NBA power broker. “It’s given him an ability to connect because he understands where a lot of these guys came from.”
Like Spoelstra, Fizdale is an alumnus of the Heat’s video room during the 1990s. He also cut his teeth in the player development realm at Tim Grgurich’s venerable big man camp and as an assistant with Golden State and Atlanta. There’s a broad consensus that the question isn’t if, but when Fizdale will be tapped for a lead job.
The OKC Thunder are pretty confident they've found the right guy for the job. He's fresh off of being a member of a two-time NBA champion coaching staff and is adept at handling the biggest of NBA ego's. OKC plans to use some of the same philosophies that the Miami Heat found so successful. We'll pinch the wings hard with good length and good wing defenders and we'll run off of steals and turnovers and we'll spread the floor and run PnR's with one of the best big-man little-man PnR combinations in the league. Fizdale has the pedigree of the Pat Riley coaching tree and has the youth and energy needed to lead our young team to the playoffs and beyond.
The "Guy"

Paul George
17.4ppg 4apg 7.6rpg
Combining athleticism with a zest for being a true student of the game Paul George has taken the next step in his career to the guy his team can count on and to a guy that is staring superstardom straight in the face. The reigning most improved player in the NBA is only 23 years old and has already led his team to a #3 seed in the east even though they were missing their leading scorer from a year ago Danny Granger. He was also an integral part of a team that made an ECF appearance and pushed the eventual champion Miami Heat to a game 7 for a chance to win an NBA championship.
George is a two way player who is completely capable of affecting the game on both sides of the floor. In the 2012-13 season George had terrific performances against some of the leagues best scorers shutting them down at will (see: James Harden in the two games Indy faced Houston). George is also quickly becoming a pretty good PnR player who has shown a propensity to handle the ball and facilitate. He can hit the big shot and is amongst the most durable of young players in the league. Besides he juked Lebron James and yoked on known pervert Chris Anderson which lead to adoration from the games greatest player. Word is Lebron is already eyeing teaming up with George once Wade's body disintegrates into a pile of cat litter.
The "Orchestrator"

You know the name clowns!!!
13ppg 6apg 3rpg 1.6spg
No one is happier to join the brand NEW look OKC Thunder than Jeremiah Lin. In doing so he happily gets away from notorious chucker James Harden who is more concerned with getting change for the strip club than he is with playing some actual defense. Word is Lin realized what an epic mistake it was to rejoin the coaching staff that cut him in the previous year and regrets not kneeling down and kissing the ring finger of Lorraine Dolan. He's ready to put that in the past now and wants to concentrate on being the PnR maniac that he rightfully should be. Oh and no more hands of stone Omer Asik to bobble his beautiful dimes out of bounds either because Pek and Hickson can actually catch and finish.
In what was actually Lin's first year to prove he can play 82 games (even after knee surgery) he showed instead of being a head case that he was actually very coachable and adaptable even if the system sucked the life out of him and he had to watch James Harden lead the league in turnovers and moronic late game shots.
Most of all he doesn't mind acknowledging who the man on the team is especially when that "guy" actually plays a little D and just isn't looking for a way to get his shine on.
The "Muscle"

Nikola Pekovic
16.3ppg 8.8rpg
In Nikola Pekovic's rookie year he showed that he just wasn't all brawn but was actually a very skilled back to the basket player with terrific footwork and good hands. It didn't take him long to be regarded as one of the best screen setters in the NBA. Fizdale plans to have Pekovic post up when needed but also a large part of his role is going to be to set screens for Lin on PnR's that give Lin room to operate and to set tons of back screens to free Paul George and Dion Waiters up so that they can slash and score. But if teams try to go small Fizdale won't hesitate to isolate Pek down on the block against wimpy faux centers like Chris Bosh.
"Mr. Windex"

J.J Hickson
12ppg 10rpg
Being left to rot on a pile of rotting carcasses after the Lebron James "Decision" aftermath J.J Hickson found new life and a chance to revive his career for the Portland Trailblazers. His physicality allowed him at 6' 9" to play center, but Fizdale is sliding him back to the 4. He was a walking double-double last year and shot an impressive 56% from the field which was good for 6th in the NBA. He's going to be that guy that cleans the boards, starts the break, trails and finishes with dunks. He can also run PnR's with the primary ball handlers (Lin, George, and Waiters) and catch and finish.
The "Glue"

Francisco Garcia
By now everyone should know that NBA careers go to die playing for the Sacramento Kings. Well much can said for Garcia. Although it's too late for Garcia to revisit his physical prime his experience and skillset make him a prime candidate for a good "glue" guy. He's going to hit the open 3, make the right pass, and play solid man to man defense. With Garcia at 6'7" and Paul George also standing at 6'7" it gives the OKC Thunder tremendous length out on the perimeter. Garcia had an pretty good under the radar performance against the Durant led OKC Thunder in this years playoffs where he proved to be an invaluable on ball defender that drew the assignment of trying to slow down Kevin Durant and he also averaged a respectable 10 ppg in that playoff series.
The "Microwave"

Dion Waiters
14.7ppg 3apg 2.4rpg
This guy is instant offense. As just a rookie he put up and impressive 14ppg.. hard to do when your point guard likes to pull the trigger also. Waiters has the ability to handle the ball and has more facilitating skills than he showed last year. He's going to be a bona fide 6th man of the year candidate and has tons of upside to become more. Once he turns into a better shooter from 3 plans from the organization are to move him to the 2 full time. Being a rookie Waiters has a lot of room to grow as a player. He's also working with well respected trainer Tim Grover to get in the best possible shape he can to make him an even more lethal threat to score.
The "Bench"

Channing Frye 10ppg 6rpg
Frye at age 30 can still give OKC some productive minutes playing the 4 in traditional line ups or playing the 5 in small spread them out lineups.

Draymond Green 3ppg 3rpg
In Draymond Green's rookie year he proved valuable as a guy who can shoot from outside and crash the boards. When stat padder David Lee went down with a hip flexor injury Green stepped right in to play key minutes at the 4 including the series clinching game against Denver where he scored 16pts and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Mike James 6ppg 3apg 1.6rpg
How many old farts can come in off the street or off their couch can come to an NBA team and steal the starting PG job from a young player who had promise? Not many. Well that's what old man Mike James did last year in Dallas providing them with at least some stability at the position. For Okie he's going to play spot minutes at the 1 or as the small shooting 2 who covers PG's.

Mirza Teletovic 3.5ppg 1.8rpg
Teletovic wasn't given a chance to at least cement himself as part of the rotation in Brooklyn because they were too busy thinking they were a contender instead of what they really were which was a pretender as evident by their ouster from the playoffs by a depleted Chicago Bulls team. Teletovic can shoot the rock if he can get someone to pass the damn ball to him.

Aaron "Big Goon" Gray 3ppg 2rpg 1black eye per game
Everyone needs a goon, a protector Gray is ours.
Rotational minutes:

Milwaukee Bucks

- Bob McAdoo is the best kept secret to the Miami Heat's success. He has won 3 championships as their assistant coach in '06, '12, and '13.
- Brandon Knight will become an allstar under the tutelage of Ray Allen, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin Garnett. Also, Brandon Knight needs to start because I'm not going to have Andre Miller chasing around point guards on the defensive end when he should be defending shooting guards instead.
- Dirk and KG are allowed to take 15 games off each during the regular season. Koufos, Blair, Tolliver, and Mohammed are more than capable of filling in for either of them as starters on any given night.
- Don't know what happened to Augustin this year with the Pacers. My guess is that it was their offense. Augustin can run pick and roll or pick and pop plays with any of my bigs. He can also find Ray Allen in the right spots.
G: Andre Miller / DJ Augustin/ Tyshawn Taylor
G: Brandon Knight /Ray Allen / Jerry Stackhouse
F: Tayshaun Prince / Marquis Daniels / Luke Walton
F: Dirk Nowitzki / DeJuan Blair/ Anthony Tolliver
C: Kevin Garnett / Kosta Koufos/ Nazr Mohammed
HC: Bob McAdoo

0 time to pimp my team thoroughly. Roster in sig.
Ball movement, Deron-Duncan PnR. Defense. Rugged squad, good youth.
