Funny thing is he's been better than Durant most of the season, and for sure this series. Yet Cuban wanted to poke him. Yep, hes a superstar.

Yeah this. I was just about to post that maybe I'm alone, but perhaps Westbrook has surpassed Durant in the superstar hierarchy

Even as a Mavs fan I gotta say Cuban really needs to keep his mouth shut.
He's just not in the position to troll anybody.

Last playoffs he was calling the Rockets "just not a good team" ... needless to say the went on to beat us 4-1 :noway:

The guy's getting on my nerves anyway. Always thinks he's smarter than everybody else.

He lucked into Dirk and that's it. Has done nothing since '11.

Mark Cuban should shut up and he is an idiot for putting himself in these positions. But this is just another instance where people just comment on topics without really reading the quotes. Anyone who reads what Cuban said, surely won't find his points that idiotic and will certainly understand where he is coming from.

How many believe Westbrook has what it takes to lead a team to the Championship? I doubt there will be a majority who truly think Westbrook's game is that of a player who can always lead his team to being a top seed every year and be a contender by building around him. Hell, they have Durant and they're still so mentally soft and insecure.

Was Cuban just super salty because everyone can see what tyoemofmplayer Westbrook is. Cuban is lucky that Miami choked that series in 2011 (game 2 choke specifically).

Edit: Adding, they were a 50ish win team last year when Westbrook alone was healthy. And that was with Kyle Singler starting at SF. He's a franchise player.

I'd say, over the last few years, that Westbrook has learned how to do more with what he has than Durant. His up-ticks in assists and rebounds have been imperative to helping a team grow that lacks real depth. Durant has rounded out his game a bit, as well, but I believe Westbrook has done more than Durant to compensate for his team's weaknesses.

Still wonder why both Durant and Westbrook feel the need to comment on any of this. You won the series and still feel you need to add an insult. Cuban is still a kid in heart and will never grow up though.

I'm sure Cuban just wanted to get into WB's head, but it backfired.

The probbility that trying to get into WB's head backfires is, i would say, pretty high.
But it can work, just look at Charlie Villanueva interrupting Westbrooks dace before game 2.
So Cuban just took his chances (maybe not so stupid, considering that Dallas was the underdog).

When Cuban first entered the pantheon of NBA franchise ownership, he was heralded as a visionary and business genius whose innovations would forever alter the way teams are run. Fast forward to the present, and it seems like you're exactly right - he's coasting on past accolades and relies on Nowitzki and Carlisle to carry a rag-tag group of mediocre role players to the playoffs. Hopefully, sooner than later, he realizes that Nowitzki isn't 25, and won't average 30ppg, that his (Cuban's) attitude is keeping free agents at bay, and that he isn't the effortlessly succeeding genius he seems to believe he is. As much as I appreciate his ability to shake things up among the old guard of NBA owners, I would prefer to see him to do more of that and less of trying to get players to think he's cool.

Not sure what Cubes was hoping to accomplish here, I'm a Mavs fan and I think it was a stupid remark. Not only is it inaccurate, it makes him look bad to players who may have considered Dallas (obviously not these two, but perhaps others).

This is weird because all that criticism was levied on Dirk and the Mavs until they finally won a championship.
