I see a lot of people can't necessarily agree on which team started small ball concepts but driving the idea of small ball isn't necessarily which teams did it first. The warriors along with a lot of the teams mentioned already were all drivers of the idea, or small ball concepts and it could be argued that the Warriors have had the most success with the concepts or took small ball idea to a new level not seen before which isn't a terrible argument.

Warriors were the reason for the cap increase? Even though it has been well publicised since before they won the title?

Heck, I think it's been talked about by NBA writers since Monta Ellis was running the show there.

Yeah, the new TV deal has been in discussion since before the Warriors caught fire last year, and the new TV deal is the primary reason for the cap increase.

Obviously Lacob is enjoying the success they've had the past two seasons. Yes, I know this year in many ways was a disappointment in terms of final result, but it was still a wildly successful season by the majority of standards. Most other teams would love to have the "disappointment" of losing in the NBA finals in game 7 while also setting the record for most wins in the season. He's getting a bit full of himself (and has been for a while), but if they can continue to look for new was to sharpen their system, this type of thinking maybe isn't a bad thing?

I mean, if he has to be the fall-guy known as the cocky jerk (hi Mark Cuban!- and I like Mark ftr), it may take some pressure off of the team as long as he doesn't become too much of a distraction. It also gives them a little bit of room to experiment with things. At this point, they don't even need to be innovative and completely reshape things, they've already done that. Now they just need to hone and sharpen and add wrinkles to their system. He just needs to stop taking credit for the players' success as well.

Either way, if James stays in Cleveland for a while, this could be a really great rivalry for the next while, which would be cool to see. I don't really like LeBron James, but I respect him immensely and think watching his team compete against GS and the Splash Bros in the next 5-ish years, regardless of who else is on each team could be really really fun to watch, especially if they grow to loathe each other (thanks for getting that started last year Delly, and Draymond for really REALLY picking up that torch this year).

Hey Joe, it's called hitting the right picks.

Nothing revolutionary about it.

What a prick and a douche.

I'd imagine he's the type of guy that no matter where he is if anyone doesn't do what he wants his response is "do you know who I am?!?!?!" and then expect everyone to know who he is.

Speaking of people running their mouth, has anyone seen WarriorsEFC lately? I'm getting a little worried...

According to his post history, he disappeared right after Game 3 happened. And then he reappeared on June 13, following Game 4. But mysteriously, he hasn't posted on this forum from Game 5 onward...

Maybe you need more details to refresh your memories.

Spoiler:
WarriorsEFC wrote:In all seriousness... if the Cavs were in the Western Conference they would have been beaten by the Warriors, OKC and Spurs easily... and I actually think Portland the way they were playing probably would go close to knocking off the Cavs. They wouldn't have gotten out of the 2nd round.

WarriorsEFC wrote:The Cavs shouldn't even really be in the finals at all... but these are the cards the NBA deals by having an East and West conference.

WarriorsEFC wrote:For 12 months we heard nothing but the Cavs would have won last year if Irving and Love were injured. Now Irving and Love are the reason they can't win.

WarriorsEFC wrote:Summer League champs? [in reference to the Cavs' offseason plans]

WarriorsEFC wrote:80% chance it is a sweep... but I also have a feeling Golden State will drop one... wanting to finish it off in 5 in front of their fans.

WarriorsEFC wrote:Enjoy getting swept LeIdiot.

WarriorsEFC wrote:It shows you how awful Cleveland is that those fans would rather sit there watching their team get smashed by 40 points than go out in Cleveland

WarriorsEFC wrote:Having Kevin Love and Irving out there gives you zero defense anyway.

WarriorsEFC wrote:How people could say with a straight face that Love and Irving playing in the finals last year would have won Cleveland the ring is beyond me.

WarriorsEFC wrote:The man is just a conniving slippery weasel. All he had to do was say "Steph was the best player this year and deserved the award... it doesn't matter what the award is called." But nahhhh Lebron is too salty at the fact he isn't the best player anymore and certainly isn't even close to the most popular.

WarriorsEFC wrote:Steph's about to put his 2nd ring on his finger... to match what Lebron has achieved in his career.... except it took Lebron 4 (soon to be 5) more attempts.... Steph is younger... and he didn't have to backstab the team that drafted him and the city he came from... to join a bunch of superstars at another team to get those rings. No wonder Lebron is salty as f@#k

WarriorsEFC wrote:I have absolutely no doubt if the Warriors, Spurs, OKC or Portland were playing Cleveland in the semi finals... Lebron James would currently be in Ibiza.

WarriorsEFC wrote:I mean really it is an absolute joke that the Finals this year wont be 2 of Golden State, San Antonio or OKC who are far and away the best 3 teams in the league. Instead the ring will be decided in the WCF and Cleveland will get their annual finals participation certificate and walk away with nothing.

WarriorsEFC wrote:All that shows is that if Lebron played in the West he would have been knocked out in the WCFs or Semis or 1st round having met those same teams instead of the finals.

WarriorsEFC wrote:Cavs defense with Love and Irving on the floor.

WarriorsEFC wrote:I can understand why. The NBA should apologise before Game 2 to fans for the playoff configuration meaning an East Coast team makes the finals every year... and then promise to change it next year. Lebron turning up for his annual finals participation certificate is becoming a joke and a blight on the game.

And HUNDREDS more posts along those lines. I hope he's alright. This forum is a much better place when he's here providing his brilliant insight.

EDIT: The Warriors organization (and some players) are really putting in the effort to be league-wide unlikable.

It's just crazy how everyone is realizing it now though. I mean, Curry has been showboating all year but he is regarded as being humble. Ownership alluding to being heads and shoulders over the rest of the teams in terms of how they are run.

Sad part, if they had won, no one would care. They would still say that Curry is a humble superstar.

If you spend to long in the bubble that is San Francisco, you start to lose any sense that innovation comes from outside that bubble every once in a while. I have seen it happen before.

Really you two? It's pretty obvious television was invented so people could see Warriors games. I'm embarrassed for you both!

Signing Kevin Durant is not forward thinking.
