Nothing much new since the last release of info. JS intern spells McGlocklin's first name as "John". Nice job.
The Milwaukee Bucks will at once celebrate their history and embark on their future when they host groundbreaking ceremonies for their new arena Saturday at the intersection of Juneau Avenue and Fourth Street.
The ceremonies will take place at 11:30 a.m., but the block party will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to the public.
Many former and current players will be in attendance, including Jabari Parker, Steve Novak, Oscar Robertson, John McGlocklin, Bob Dandridge, Bob Lanier, Sidney Moncrief, Marques Johnson, Wayne Embry and Fred Roberts.
Bucks owners Wes Edens, Marc Lasry, Jamie Dinan and Mike Fascitelli and former owner Senator Herb Kohl also will be in attendance.
The block party will feature local music acts, including Shon Hinton, Wave Chapelle, Evan Christian, Ray Nitti, Wait for Morning, BoxKar, Chasin' Mason and DJ O.
The party will include local food trucks, Davians Catering, the Milwaukee Brat House, Who's on Third and The Pub Club.
The festivities will provide activities for people of all ages, including a rock-climbing wall, a Bucks sport court and a children's area.
In addition to activities, after the groundbreaking ceremony, fans will have the opportunity to leave their mark on the new arena forever by signing one of the foundation slabs.
Parking will be available at the BMO Harris Bradley Center parking structure at Sixth Street and State Street or in the City of Milwaukee parking ramp on Fourth Street and Highland Avenue. Street parking also will be available.
The Bucks plan to begin playing in the new arena by the 2017-18 season.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

They updated it on the website. both the "Jon" and the correct date for opening the new arena. We should put in for editors pay at the JS. Or at least proofreader.

I'd buy season tickets if they had seats like that at the BC.

Marcus has done well to adapt to the changing movie market. Recliners, you can buy your tickets and pick out your seats in advance for no extra charge. $5 all day/night Tuesdays with free popcorn. Full service bar, you can have a drink before/after and/or take drinks in with you. Very nice.

For those who went to the last game of the season and signed up for VIP tickets for the groundbreaking, have you received anything yet other than the initial sign up email?

I just received my ticket a few minutes ago via email. As I'm a season subscriber, I also get MVP tickets, but I haven't received those yet.

I did receive the email with my MVP tickets last night. You sure yours wasn't MVP? Cause I don't think you would need tickets to go otherwise.

I'll be there. Weird that they still haven't taken down that third building. The other two came down pretty quickly.

Downloaded the plans for the training facility/offices this morning. I had to laugh a bit when I saw that the GMs office shares a wall with the bathrooms, with that wall being the one with the toilets. Going to be awkward when our GM is on the phone with other GMs and there is going to be flushing in the back ground.

I'll be there. I got my picture taken as a kid with Fred Roberts 25 years ago, thus my screen name. I found the picture the other day and I'm going to bring it with me and hopefully blow his mind. I'll probably be part of about 10% of people there who actually know who he is, so this seems realistic

I will be there tomorrow as well. Wouldn't miss it! This is my first Father's Day weekend ever, as I have a new, three-month-old son. I'm having a straight razor shave at Groom at 9:30, will casually stroll over to the groundbreaking afterwards. Couple that with my weekly Sunday morning hoops game, the U.S. Open and Game 7. Not a bad Father's Day weekend at all!

I got my VIP tickets yesterday and an email with the MVP info about an hour ago.

Per his follow up tweet, they have kissed and made up.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.
Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

ITS HERE! Today is the day we have been working for years. Still can't believe we bet the odds and did this. Cannot wait to see downtown transform the next few years. Congrats all and let's celebrate.
