Kirk to Indiana?

Post#1 » by lebrontochicago » Thu Jun 24, 2010 4:53 pm

via @nbadraftnet twitter
Trade Rumor: Kirk Hinrich to Indiana. 17th pick included - Indiana targeting Gordon Hayward at 17. Not sure what Ind gives in deal.

Edit

@nbadraftnet 10th pick included in that rumored deal. Not sure who Chicago targets at 10.

Please be Troy Murphy. One of the most underrated 4's in the league.

Indy doesn't have the necessary cap space. Unless we were taking Troy Murphy or something?

well, there is already precedent for a simple salary dump with little in return. That could be the deal here.

I believe this one - a Hinrich/Hayward haul seems right up Bird's alley.

I have no idea what Indy would give. Murphy wouldn't save any cap at ALL. Dunleavy...can go get Dunleavyed. Foster/Jones?

Edit: Oh. TJ Ford, I'd think. That still doesn't make a ton of sense for us. Perhaps we'd try to trade Ford+10 to Minny for a good deal of absolutely nothing back.

Id love Murphy back. It's taking on my salary, but he expires after this season. Would be a pretty good trade. Don't know about having to include the pick though. What's the point?

I'd be happy if we just got "future considerations" for them. Would likely be better than any draft pick or player we could get from them.

Not if he gets taken sooner!

Adrian Woj - Twitter: No deal with Pacers, but Oklahoma City has been "relentless" trying to get into top 10. Why? Butler's Gordon Hayward, league source says.

If we get Troy Murphy, then I would be happy if we get Lebron or not. Troy would instantly spread the floor. We could sign Lebron and be great, or sign Joe Johnsons and still be good with Deng at 3. I hope something happens.

I thought Hayward was going to be long gone by 17. Am I wrong?

Consider all these rumors:

Pacers want Hinrich
Magic want Deng
Mavs want a pick in teens, and tried to sign Gortat last summer

Put them together, and you get the trade that DanTown proposed a couple of days ago:

Bulls
Out: Deng, Hinrich, 17
In: Pietrus, Dampier (who is cut)

Magic
Out: Gortat, Pietrus
In: Deng

Mavs:
Out: Dampier
In: 17, Gortat, Ford

Pacers:
Out: Ford
In: Hinrich

The other teams are happy, and the Bulls are ecstatic, having traded Deng, Hinrich and the 17 for Pietrus and $15 million more in cap space.

If it's Ford+10 for Hinrich+17...let's do that.

Hinrich probably isn't being taken for capspace.

But Ford+player selected at 10+ cash money? That might be pretty easy to convince someone to do.

do you think the bulls are doing this to target somebody higher in the draft, or just as a deal sweetener?
