ANDREA BARGNANI

Status: Signed through 2014-15 season.

Good and bad: Missed more than half the season with a wonky calf muscle but was excellent for most of the games he played; showed a willingness, and an ability, to play defence that had been hidden in his first five years with the franchise. Still an offensive matchup problem for opponents and Casey structured the offence to run through him. He won’t ever be a great rebounder but he can definitely improve in that area.

Future: No reason to think Casey won’t keep him in same key role.

Grade: B-plus.

DEMAR DEROZAN

Status: Signed through 2012-13 season with team option for 2013-14.

Good and bad: Assumed far greater scoring load with absence of Andrea Bargnani for more than half the season; showed at times a great understanding of the balance needed between drives and jumpers. Still has to work to do on defence but Dwane Casey lauded him for improvement as the season went on. Still needs to work on ball-handling skills to be able to attack more successfully. Probably more a complementary player on a very good team as opposed to a go-to guy right now.

Future: If his game continues to develop as it has, a key part.

Grade: C-plus

Was Bargs excellent for most of the games he played? And he'll improve in the rebounding area? Cmon Doug.

Everyone basically got a C except for Amir (D), Magloire (B) and Bargs (B).
Jeremy Lin, Jerryd Bayless, Bismack Biyombo, I believe.

I would think JJ deserves a B- , he's been one of the brighter spots this season.

Not that it matters, but The Doug lists Alabi as a UFA. Shouldn't he be RFA?

I think DeRozan improved a lot, and his ball handling in his last few games showed some flashes being a good playmaker. However, his body language (perhaps frustration) has been too much. If he is the best player on the team, he cannot afford to be tossed out of the game (like the previous game). He needs to take more responsible on court.

As for Bargnani, I don't know if we intended to keep him out for a bit, and he was out of shape as he got back into the game. I wouldn't account for those injuries, and I doubt it is that serious. However, his rebounding needs to be improved, his technique is far from acceptable, and we need him to rebound in clutch time after intentional fouling opponents.

Meanwhile, for the other players, I haven't read the comments yet.
