The Lord is saving my life; Trust in Him and you'll see the same : ): Daily Scripture Readings
Ask a saint like Padre Pio to ask Jesus to send you a conversion moment. What's the worst that can happen if you don't believe anyways? ;) Prayer works

This whole move is kinda dumb IMO. Makes yet another layer of confusion in the organization. If Pax couldn't take the heat, he should have just stepped down completely - or at least go to a position where he doesn't hold authority over Gar.

Forman has assumed more of the day-to-day duties of many of the basketball operations' duties as far back as last summer, when he negotiated with the agents of Luol Deng and Ben Gordon to try to secure contract extensions for those players.

YAYYY! Now we gota GM who overpays for 1 dimensional players and who can't get a contract signed after 2 years of negotiations.

Did you miss this part of the article?

The Bulls' new front-office setup is quite common in the NBA.

Its also quite common in the other sports. I fail to see where the confusion lies?

Which is it? Did he overpay for a 1 dimensional player? Or can't he get a contract signed?

Well if the article is implying that Forman negotiated the Deng deal, then he overpayed for the 1 dimensional deng, And if the article is implying that he also negotiated the Ben Gordon contract situations, then he couldn't get that deal done ..which may not have been completely his fault as the consensus around here is pretty much that BG overvalued himself the last 2 summers and the bulls offers were fair. So i guess to answer your question, probably only the 1st one.

Gar seems like an extension of Pax. Both seemed to have the same views of Tyrus, Noah, etc heading into the past few drafts. I'm sure Gar was the one negotiating all the deals around this year's deadline and bascially needed Pax's sign off or input to finalize anything. Nothing out of the ordinary here. I suspect Pax keeping his title and having an input on any momumental decisoin as Reinsdorf trusts Pax.

It's been this way for a while. This is just an announcement of it.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with the statement, but what dimension do you think Deng has?

Just never thought of him that way.

Even though it's been this way, it seems like people were hurt by the official news.

The dimension is 'injury-prone'.

All Gar is, is Paxson's Proxy.

I believe JP was one that got seriously irritated to talking to the press about rumours, ideas etc that came up. He never liked it and never handled it correctly.

Seems he was visibly irritated with the Gasol thing....and the Kobe thing...and the Amare thing...

He gets so defensive and irritated and took it toll aging Pax about 10 years.

Now Pax can sit back, do deals on his own and let Gar take the heat and the interviews.

You probably wont hear or see Pax again until we sign or for trade a superstar or win a title.

The only other basketball operations guy you hear from is Pat Riley.
