He wins opening games or unexpected off-nights, but after we upset Boston last time, you knew they’d come back and put on a clinic.

Billy doesn’t throw surprises at you. He believes the team’s as good as it is (not good). Yet he wants them to play hard, for no reason other than it’s right thing to do.

Yet the young players still have to patiently wait for their numbers to be called, and then yanked quickly after a few mistakes.

Anyway, you can tell the apathy and frustration creeping. Vuc’s playing like **** again, and they’re either gonna have to give him away for free or hold him for another dreadful end to the season. I would just cut his minutes significantly- let Jalen play. OKC sent Horford on a vacation to the Bahamas, and he came back to help the Celtics win another ring. Bulls can’t operate outside the box.

Billy's whole shtick is to scapegoat and his entire strategy is "more effort". When challenged about Matas playing time he threw the rookie under the bus. Said he wasn't giving effort earlier and the rain he is looking better is because he is trying harder. How about "he is getting better with experience as he gets used to the speed and strength of NBA players. Experience that I have made it difficult for him to get since I haven't given him minutes".

How did you give up so many points? "We need better defensive effort". Or maybe better rotation management to ensure a better chance at success? Pairing your best rim defender with Vuc?

There seem to be a lot of scoring droughts. "We need more effort to move and share the ball quickly." OK. Or maybe try not putting Vuc and Zach in the bench at the same time for most of their rest minutes? Putting the ball in the right players hands to initiate half court offense?

It just goes on and on and there is almost never a comment of anything strategic to address the issues. Just... "well, the players need to try harder and play better".

Matas has been compared to Andrei Kirilenko and he's was skinny, but strong enough to be productive. If Matas ends up being similar than I think that would be okay.

I think Matas' upside is significantly higher, AK47 was never that explosive or had Buzelis' handles, the between the legs crossover that Matas did to get the basket, AK47 would have tripped over himself. AK was never considered a dunker or high level athlete either.

Matas could be something like a 6' 10" Iguodala.

I agree with you, but keep in mind that Kirilenko was 20 years old when he came to the NBA (the same age as Matas). By year three he was an all-star.

I'd be surprised if Matas did that (happily surprised).
