I know some people have fallen in love with Smith, but based on the last few games, why shouldn't 6'11 Collins have a shot at starting center? People keep calling him a 4, but he seems to play better at center by a good margin. Last three games he played starting center:

28 minutes 19pts, 5 rebounds, 1assists, 1 block, 1 steal 60% shooting, 6-6 free throws
38 minutes 21 pts, 17 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 57% shooting 3-5 free throws
40 minutes 15 pts, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, 50% shooting, 5-6 free throws

Smith is a slightly better shooter, Collins looks like the better passer, better free throw. Has at least a steal a game last three games, and a block 2 of 3 games. He keeps up like this, he should get a shot. With those numbers he could be a keeper or get us a first round pick thru trade next season.

Other than the fact that Collins is 27 and that's old on this team, lol.

Well it seems that Collins will actually be starter, not Smith anyway..

Probably, but I really think Smith should be given a shot. IMO he is better defensively. Better yet, let's roll big:

Ball, Giddey, Matas, Smith, Collins

It will force more offense through Matas, which might be good for his development. Defensively, that team may be the best we've seen since Caruso and Ball were both playing.

IMO Smith is better than Collins defensively. His contract is also much more appealing to us because it's an extra year at half the cost.

Smith is coming off injury so I'm not sure that's accurate.
