No need to thank me.

Thanks but no thanks.
Losses won't improve us, with the 8th pick we'll get another Coby at best, good but not great.
Not ecstatic about our chances in the lottery.

And how does winning help the team? Winning moves them further up the lottery board with teams like the Spurs and Atlanta looming nearby.

I expect them to obviously win some games, you can't lose them all, but trying to beat teams like the Magic is pointless.

You want a great tanking move?Just bring Vuc back and we'll see a lot of losses, starting Terry will help the tank too.

Wins won't move us up either as upper teams will keep winning.
Rooting for wins won't hurt us.

Wins potentially move the team closer to the 9th or 10th pick, lowering their chances of moving up during the lottery. The Spurs have lost Wemby for the season and Fox has been pretty bad, The Hawks are barely ahead of the Bulls, as are Portland and Phoenix, screw winning games ATM, especially against teams like the Magic, what a pointless, pointless win that would be.
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy. :kissmybutt:

Yep. That is what the NBA is all about any more. And the play-ins just made it worse. It had gotten to the point where the approach was "if you're not top 8, tank". Now, it's "if you're not top 6, tank". It really is ruining the sport.

Ironically, I think the whole idea of the play-in was to motivate teams not to tank.

I think the bigger problem how hard it is for teams to become contenders. I do think the apron rules help, but more needs to be done. Maybe playoff teams should be excluded from the first round of the draft all together?

I like the idea in principle... but talk about the 6-10 teams trying to tank.... imagine if it meant not getting a pick. Teams would be trying to lose play-in games.

But this isn't true. Maybe SA is not trying to win, now that Wemby is out but 13 of the 15 teams out West are trying to win
In the East the top 9 are all trying to win, plus kind of Chicago

Utah/NO (injuries clearly destroyed their year or they'd be trying to win) out West
Char/Wash/Tor/Brk in the East
Sixers just had bad luck/suck

So it's not nearly as bad as you think

I'm not talking about just the teams. I'm talking about every sports pundits and all the fans.

Well OK, that's a fair point. Fans are fonder of tanking than GMs are.

maybe they could loosen trade restrictions (i.e. salary matching) on non-play-off teams.
