Giddey & Huerter's offensive games were off, yet the team still scored 119. That's what this team is. With Giddey, Coby, and a rising Matas, we're going to be a good offensive squad next year. Maybe even excellent. The key is to assemble at least some form of defense.

I mean, we all know this. The team needs a nasty rim protector at the #5 spot and needs a 3&D wing. Huerter isn't that, Pat isn't that, and until Lonzo rediscovers his shot he's not that either.

Has anyone heard an update on Jones or Ball coming back this season?

if you want to be glass half full you could point to only losing by 1 in a game where you had 20 turnovers and your best player had a down night/bad game. Other guys stepped up to keep it competitive.

I remain unabashedly intruiged by Kai Jones

Hopeful Lonzo and Tre Jones can be back sooner than later, that would really help offset any down nights from Giddey or Coby.


Happy to stand up and admit I was wrong about Matas pre-draft. I'm most impressed by his handles. His shot has also come a long way in a year.


Hopeful for a big Josh Giddey revenge game in OKC.

Watching the game, here are a few thoughts:

- We were off most of the night, and the only times we really looked in control is when we had the Terry-Phillips-Collins trio in during the 3rd quarter and at the end when Coby and Matas started going off for quick buckets
- Tonight felt like the template of what Dalen Terry can be as an NBA player. It wasn't his best game, but it represented what you can expect from him if he "makes it" in the league.
- Vuc had a good night on paper, but I think the +/- stats from the game speak truth to who was more impactful between him and Collins. It felt like Dallas played really differently when Vuc was in because they knew the paint would be wide open.
- It's interesting to me that Billie yanked Giddey for defense at the end of the game instead of Vuc. You would think it would be the other way around, especially since the difference in offense between Collins and Vuc is much smaller than the difference between Giddey and Terry. From this I conclude that Billie thinks POA defense is more important than interior defense, and that keeping the paint open is a paramount concern on offense. That would explain a lot of his decision making regarding Vuc.

I think Giddey's head got big after the all-star level play and buzzer beater over LeBron. He's was making appearances on Australian TV and ESPN, and I think it got to him last night. Of course he's only 22, and this is probably the first time he's experiencing a high like this. He needs to learn how to stay even keel in his mentality through the ups and downs.

It gets better. It was prom themed with a bunch of 30-60 year old women wearing prom dresses. Even auctioned off king and queen. The girls last night were definitely thicker and more covered in tattoos than my prom at Lake Forest Academy which was held on Navy Pier. There was a keg last night however.

Of course the Bulls lose to THIS Mavericks team. That is something a young team has to learn.

The Bulls are locked into the play-in so it doesn’t really matter.

I’m actually rooting for the Mavs because I think it would be hilarious if PHX misses the play-in to a team that gave away Luka then lost most of their roster to injury.

Came back just to say... OAK! Wasn't a great team, but still. His game changed quickly as he matured - he understood his role at a pretty early age. I remember questioning that Oak/Cartwright trade when it happened (I was negative-12 years old, somehow), especially since Oak was MJ's bodyguard, but they knew what they were doing.
