Super unlikely this guy is an NBA player, super unlikely any other guy we could have drafted was an NBA player, super unlikely if we stayed a #45 that we'd get an NBA player.
This is an undeniable fact. I think what rubs me the wrong way about this move more than anything is that our Bulls traded away a higher spot for cash considerations. From a philosophical standpoint, they should've done the opposite in a draft so deep apparently that KJ could afford to fall all the way to #20. Trade up through cash considerations, not down for cash considerations. That doesn't help the product on the floor.
I'm not saying I'm excited about cash considerations, just on the order of dumb stuff we've done with 2nd rounders, this doesn't even remotely hold a candle to refusing to trade Andre Drummond for three seconds. Given our current roster / roster spot crunch, I'd have preferred to just flip this for a future 2nd than trade up, but I don't have strong thoughts once way or the other.
To me this is one of those things that has a high negative emotional impact due to scars over our cheapness than meaningful practical impact.
