Nique Clifford has averaged 18ppg, 6rpg and 4apg and shot very well during SL.

Pretty certain Sorber is still recovering from his injury.

I can confirm that when I sit down and watch a player closely, my eye for talent aligns with good performances in the Summer League.

That's good for my ego. I'm still missing something when it comes to the NBA or maybe I expect my hit rate to be too high.

Surprisingly Drew Timme who came out last year from Gonzaga is having a really good summer league. Putting up big numbers. I always thought he had a high skill level, BBIQ and intangibles. I just thought he was too slow laterally to make it in the NBA. Maybe not. Maybe it just takes going to a team that wants to use you for what you can do, rather than trying to draft a guy and hope he changes to what you'd like him to be.

IMO he's another one in the Sabonis architype that I don't want anywhere near us. Hope he carries POR to the playoffs this season though.

Timme always looked like a good college player that would t translate. He is cerebral but has no elite skill to get him into the NBA.

PJ Hall is another big we should maybe look at. He's pretty athletic, can shoot, and in limited time with the Nuggets and plenty of time in the GLeague he performed pretty well, with ratios of good to bad plays that indicate maybe he'll be able to play against better competition.

He looks like a solid bet for a two-way, since we need to start trying anything we can to replace Vuc

IMO he's another one in the Sabonis architype that I don't want anywhere near us. Hope he carries POR to the playoffs this season though.

He looks more like Arvydas than Domantas. Guy is 7’1 and handling the ball in full-court effortlessly, making Magic Johnson passes, shooting contested 3Ps and blocking shots.

I didn't think he would be drafted as high as he was, I believe he was mostly mocked late 1st-early 2nd.

I wanted us to trade down or trade back in and pick him. He was one of the few draft prospects I actually studied up on leading up to the draft, but that was admittedly largely due to the "next Yao" factor.

Terrence Shannon Jr. has looked pretty fantastic in Summer League so far. I guess that should be expected to an extent due to his age compared to a lot of other players, but even so, it looks like he might be ready to take a big step this season. He's being asked to do a lot more than just attack the basket in transition. He's handling the ball a lot more and making some nice decisions with it. Really fun to watch.

PJ Hall and David JOnes-Garcia are the two guys i'd be looking at for 2-way contracts, both 23 years old, promising skill sets and hard workers, those are the types of guys we need on 2-ways not dime a dozen guys like Miller, Young, JFL, etc

Just looked up DJG, I didn't realise he wasn't already on a 2-way. Release Miller and sign this guy immediately!

Bigs with half decent skill tend to do okay in summer league, so I wouldn't go as far as to say it's going to translate in the regular season. I would be more pleasantly surprised if he had a similar production in preseason, so lets see. Not to say I'm hoping that he fails, I absolutely want more talented young players in the league, but it helps us fans ultimately, but I don't think he is going to make that much of an impact in year one.

I've said it before but the league is cyclical and not too long ago, people were proclaiming bigs were a dead position but I've always held that belief that over time the league shifts and certain positions mostly based on the talent that comes into the league and how they impact the game, ultimately impact how teams build their roster. Point being, I love the fact that centers are returning back to the spotlight, I think it's good for the league.

Ironically, this pick was generally viewed as a huge reach when made too.

I think the problem is the overall level of play in the Chinese league is so low, and a few guys whom have wow'd there in the past have been busts. Toss onto that where China has a reputation of understating the age of their players by a couple years, and you can see where a lot of things are tricky there.
