Had he crushed his pro day and looked all world especially considering his season was over and all he had to do was workout like a madman and show front offices that he’d been crushing it leading up the draft. I thought it was a bad look - what was he doing that whole time? Plenty of teams passed on him. It wasn’t just us and as far as players with red flags I trust that GMs have access to worlds more info than us the public do.

From an outside distraction perspective, the legal and PR stuff he was going through was probably among the most that any prospect has ever had to deal with. From a personal emotional well being standpoint, the very recent death of a friend that he was indirectly involved with likely also took a pretty significant toll.
If he were crushing it prior to the draft, he wouldn't have been there at our pick. The reasons he was not crushing it seemed highly likely to be temporary in nature. Like I said, to me, a very rare but obvious human psychology arbitrage opportunity. To me it felt obvious why people got so negative (focusing on results of what happened) and also obvious why it wouldn't have a big impact in the future (this was a non repeatable / non football related situation).

I don't know if that was intentional or not, but that's a great nickname for Ozzie!

I cannot believe how bad our off. line is. It's worse than last year, and we added 3 top free agents! How can they be this bad. We cannot run the ball to save our lives, and the pass pro wasn't very good either. There's no way you can win against good teams with this off. line, without being to run the ball, at all.
At halftime I thought they might as well just get in shotgun formation and throw the ball every single time. It's better than looking at 2nd and 12 every series.

I legitimately don't get how he was so dominant previously, but struggling here all of a sudden. I'm hoping he just needs some adjustments time, but he looks slow and somehow he's lost strength. Very strange indeed.

Cairo Santos apparently was injured- a strained quad. That's why Tory Taylor kicked off after the last TD by the Bears. Hopefully that's not serious..

The B Jones stuff seems a bit odd. I thought he had gotten banged up on one of the plays where he was very slow to get up off the ground. Don't think he played after that particular play, maybe he had a slight concussion. That could explain why he was asked not to speak to media and why Ben didn't specify him being injured.

He should be squashing UDFA types. And TBH, the Bears were trying to hand him the LT job, but he would not take it. So it wasn’t just a media and fan narrative.
I think it's a bit early to write off Kiran. He's 23 yrs old, been a Bear for less than 18 months and injured most of the time. Granted if he can't stay healthy, any potential he may have is immaterial.

The Bears version of Patrick Williams.
Kiran will be out of the NFL in 5 years.

Also props to Stevenson. He gets a lot of hate and for good reason. But he has had some impactful plays this season including the pick today.

The Bears played two rookies at tackle, one an undrafted free agent from Canada. Everybody was celebrating the tough training camp, but the reality is the team is riddled with injuries on both sides of the ball. Hopefully, the run game D will get better if Jarrett and Edwards get healthy. The bigger issue is left tackle. Braxton clearly is still suffering from last season's injury. Do you hope he gets stronger and more mobile after the break or do you move Wright over to a new position 4 games into the season?

The only knock on Santos is that he doesn't have this superhuman leg like a lot of the top kickers have nowadays. This puts us at a disadvantage becuase we have less scoring opportunities.
Were he gives us an advantage is that you will find few (if any) more accurate and clutch within 52 yards
