Wow, the Iisalo effect in Memphis offense is that big. I knew It'd be big, but this is crazy big of a change!

Nice find. Bulls tied for 3rd in the league in setting picks. One reason why they value Vooch so much. (Also a reason why Essengue may not be an option for the 5 given how slender he is.)

This might go down as AK’s biggest blunder if it ends up being a top 3 pick… which says a lot.

My issue with the trade is that there was a point in time when they could've got Marcus Smart plus a first for Lonzo, but they turned it down (at least I think they did..?).
We would have Smart here. Because the Reinsdorfs will not cut a check without you earning it.
I enjoy a good "Reinsdorf is cheap" crack as much as the next guy, but this is obviously historically untrue (e.g. Boozer, Wade).
Reinsdorfs will spend to the salary cap and that is it.
How many trade exemption did we let elapse to keep the Reinsdorfs?
We never used it. The bottom is Is Jerry goal and I am not upset about Smart. He would have not got in.

I took your point to mean Reinsdorf wouldn't take on Smart and buy him out to acquire a pick, because they won't pay players not to play for them. The potential Smart acquisition doesn't have anything to do with the luxury tax.

Wasn't Boozer waived via that special, one-time provision from the lockout/new CBA that allowed us to get off his contract without any financial repercussions? I'm not positive on the details, it's been over a decade, but if so Boozer wouldn't apply here.

It got me to look up his stats and his FG % is .278. Ouch!
Lonzo if he not hitting from 3 will not drive.
And in the rare event he does drive, he will miss the layup.
Not sure I've ever seen a worse finisher at the rim than Lonzo. It always seemed like he would just toss the ball haphazardly at the backboard on his drives.
Not hating on him, just saying.

So is there a deal where we'd take Zach back? His contract expires after next season and kicks some of our expirings down the road. Something like:
Out: Vuc, PWill, Okoro
In: Zach, Eubanks, Ellis, Kings '26 1st

I hope he gets a real opportunity with Indy and shows out and sticks in the league a long time.
I don't care as it's the G-league but I went down the rabbit hole of how McClung went back to the WCB for a short period.
So they traded Freeman-Liberty(+Mike Miles??) and their first+second to acquire McClung for him just to sign with a NBA team,

The Bulls are over-screening. The amount of times they already have 1 on 1 mismatches and then screen with a better defender is insane. Was driving me crazy vs Atlanta how they refused to iso Trae.

Not in the way you suggest. Yes, he was amnestied, but that only means that his number came off the books for salary cap purposes. The Bulls still had to pay him the actual cash. So, in some sense, it cost them more money to do it, because you also end up signing a guy with Boozer's salary slot while still having to pay Boozer.

Miami has one of the best offenses in the league and hardly set picks they have a lot of moving cutting in spacing. Playing against them is like a track meet.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Re: Around The NBA : 2025-26
I was very high on Ryan Kalkbrenner in the draft and through 5 games he's shooting 90% from the field (on 30 FGAs).
Just great hands, great roll man. Not highlight reel explosive, but gets his shots up quick. Great touch. Dunks everything else.
I know he's an older rookie but he's so strong.

A Luke Schenscher-ian start to his career. That's a deep cut, not sure how many will get that reference.

Blazers steal one against Denver and move to 4-2. Fun start for them (and potentially the pick they owe...)

First time in his career, Lauri scores 30 or more in four consecutive games..Jazz better effing trade him or become good unexpectedly soon or I'm gonna be very pissed. I want him to play with some all star(s).

Season is still young but he's averaging 33.8/6.6 @ 66%TS, +7.9 nrtg on a -0.4 rtg team

Yeah, I don't get why Utah should be wanting to trade him and Kessler. They have Bailey now. That could be a very good core.
I think Lauri is relishing being a big fish in a small pond, and would prefer to stay. He also seems like the sort of guy who is very comfortable in a place like Salt Lake City.
