I'll go on record as saying that Deng is beginning to look like he could have an injury plagued career. He's missed quite a few games in his first 3+ seasons and has not 1 but 2 potentially chronic ailments (Achilles and back).

I know we love him around here, but don't overlook this. He's 22 and these injuries could linger for quite some time. It would be different if it were broken bones and so on, but backs and tendons can linger.

He's looking injury prone to me. First his wrist, then his back and now his achilles.

this is definitely chronic. i don't know why they're acting like rest will help much. i have achilles tendinitis and it doesn't go away. i'm just about 26 now and have had it since i was like 15 i believe.

the thing about it is, it actually feels fine when you're active. its after you sit down after being active, then try to talk on it is when it really flares up.

obviously as an nba player you have access to world class medical care so maybe im wrong. but none of my doctors have ever really been able to do anything for me.

from what i understand, there is a chance of rupture. i know you're not supposed to push it when it REALLY flares up. its usually just a minor annoyance though.

The main source of his missed games was a broken bone.

Wasn't it a tendon in his wrist?

It was definitely wrist related & he missed the end of the season & the playoffs

He was having problems with it during the season, then he missed the end. I dont remember if it was actually broken

i think deng had a ligament tear that had to be repaired. as far as i remember there was no boney injury.
