I wish bulls run better offense just like San Antonio, Atlanta, and Warriors..
Coz i think they have the personnel to run better sets.. Noah and Gasol are good passers..
I think their offense sometimes become stagnant coz the ball stops at one point.. they run a lot of pick and roll and post play for gasol but i feel like it would be more effective and unpredictable if the ball moves around non-stop..
How i wish thibs take notes of the offensive set opponents are doing that are working against them specially the teams ive mentioned and use it.. triangle offense with twist would be nice..
I think the offense that was runned by Noah last yr was the best ball rotation and passing ive seen from thibs offense.. its beautiful to watch.. hope they make Noah more of a playmaker 65% of the time..

Re: Can the Bulls run better offense?
You need players who can score in volume on long range jump shots to run offenses like San Antonio & Golden State.
Name one Bull starter that an opposing team is worried about leaving open at the 3 point line other than Dunleavy, who doesn't play a lot of minutes for us.
San Antonio & GS use a ton of screens to free up shooters, defenders have to cover those shooters, the shooters make smart passes to the open man.
Nobody is worried about leaving the Bulls open from 3, especially if our PG has the ball.
We can run the same plays as those other teams, and the defender just goes under the screen and lets us shoot. It won't have the same effect. You need their personnel.

Our offense was 28th in the NBA last year. It's 10th this year.

Re: Can the Bulls run better offense?
Though I believe we can't run the same sort of offense as the Spurs do, we could definitely have more movement in our offense.
How often do you see Pau or Taj pound the ball and it would need two passes to get the ball to Nico or Dunleavy or whomever, but all the other players stand still and watch what those guys are doing. Maybe they know the ball is not coming back to them, but often Taj gets doubled down the block and he gets no help whatsoever. He gets his side cleared out and can't go anywhere, that's not good offense.
Even my husband who has no big knowhow starts screaming that someone has to help Taj or Pau out. Pau normally takes a shot over his defender and misses, b/c he doesn't have enough space and Taj gets stuck in the double team and has nowhere to turn to, b/c no one is there. And the other four guys stand on the other side of the court and wait it out.
Our offense looks great when the ball moves fast and looks awful when we iso or clear out for our big guys. Gasol can shoot from outside, Dunleavy, Jimmy, Derrrick too when he gets assisted on it and if the ball moves he can get the assist on the three. Guys just need to make much quicker decisions and move without the ball, that's where the easy points come from.

Our offense is good. But we are not running most of it.
For that you need Derrick to commit.

For love, not money.
