If people are buying basketball jerseys for guys that are playing well in the last 2 seasons, they’re not buying it for Bryant and Rose.

If people are buying basketball jerseys for guys that have a reputation, they’re buying it for Bryant and Rose.

If people are buying basketball jerseys for guys that play for megabrands, they’re buying it for Bryant and Rose.

Not sure why everyone is offended. If I am buying a Bulls jersey right now, I am getting a Jimmy Butler one.

That said, this is coming from a hardcore fan’s perspective. For the general fan, I understand why Rose’s jersey sells out.

Let's face it...if you are buying a Bulls jersey for the first time, you are buying either a MJ or Derrick jersey.

After that, it is whatever is selling at the lowest price and Snell's jersey might be 3rd on the Bulls.

I find it interesting that fans continue to buy his jersey, and yet he has fallen off significantly in terms of fan voting for the All-Star game. Don't get me wrong, he shouldn't have any reason to be at the game, whether it be by fan or coach voting, but I thought with all his legion of fans, he would have at least had plenty of fan votes.

Curry has definitely become the darling of the NBA right now.

Another factor is, Derrick Rose is a "cool" guy to younger kids. He has tats, but isn't a mega douche like Lebron. He's that laid back, cool as a cat guy to young kids. It's cooler for a young kid to rock a Rose jersey than a Gasol, or Butler jersey. It's like rocking True Religion jeans compared to something from Target.

Derrick Rose is a brand name, and "cool" is attached to his brand name. His game is definitely the biggest factor, but it's also the "swag" factor. Yes, I said swag.

And seeing him on commercials, and hearing his name all the time doesn't hurt him either.

I guess the people who buy jerseys don't also vote for all-star games(not that Rose deserves a spot).

Doesn't help he's buried on the ballot.

Can't say I'm too surprised Rose is still that high on the list. Major market helps quite a bit.
