Since players 11-13 on a roster usually don't play anyway, I don't really get why anyone would quibble over who's there. Those roster spots usually feature a player who has one foot in the league and one foot out. Do you want that person to have one foot in the league and one foot in the D-league/overseas? Or would you rather have that person have one foot in the league and one foot in retirement/coaching? I'll take the latter. Nazr is still serviceable when he plays and a knowledgeable veteran with a ton of experience. I bet he's well respected in the locker room and acts as sort of a player coach during games and practice.

Veteran minimum, good mentor, class professional, you could do a lot worse for a 13-15th man.

So why not make him like a team adviser or something to that effect

If he would shove LeBron James on his a..s in that position he would get sued.

In most circumstances I would say if this thread is front page worthy then we are in good shape as a team.

I mean, Nazr hasn't even really threatened to have court time in a circumstance where it was necessary. And that's with 3 of our 4 main frontcourt players missing stretches of time with various injuries and having a team composed of players with a history of injury concerns.

NAZR ISN'T GOING TO PLAY, so who cares whether he is on the team or not? And, like I said, if we have so few issues as a team that this thread is front page worthy then we are in great shape as a team. Unfortunately, that is not the case. We DO have other issues that we should be more concerned with - so, maybe we should address those concerns and allow this thread to die of natural causes on its way off the front page, yeah?

At the time Nazr was signed Thibs wasn't planning on giving Mirotic any burn IMO, and even if he got some PT nobody thought he'd be able to defend or rebound, like most euro stretch 4s.

Nowadays Mirotic playing the 5 has become standard along with Taj.

In a nutshell: Nobody knew Mirotic could play center back then. I also think the FO was planning for Gasol to be more injured than he has been.
