Any ways, this quote from Jimmy really started having me think.
Essentially, since Jimmy's bereavement leave (it was never released who passed away in his life), he had been struggling. He had a good game against the Rockets, but really fell off until the last 2 games. He mentions that it's something he doesn't want to get into (explaining), so I wonder if the personal issue he went through effected his on court play.
Other reasons have also been noted about how he needs to be back at SG and defenses coming at him differently.
It seems he's starting to bounce back these past 2 games, but you have to wonder if that was the reason for the slump he was in?

Could be, didn't Noah or Taj (or both) struggle last year for a while after they lost people close to them?

Yeah, Taj has lost a lot of people in his life (friends and family) since he came to the league. Noah I think lost his child hood mentor (Mr. Green) around/before the playoffs last year, if I remember correctly.
