What position would he play exactly? A power forward? I don't think so. He looks like he is back to the size when he was in college, so on the defensive end he will get crushed, while he collects a few blocks here and there. And on the offensive end, he will continue to shoot jumpers most of the time.

I wish him the best, but he already has had too many chances which he let slip away, I find it highly improbable that he will land on a team. I'd be shocked if he does. Guy just needs to go overseas and try to get a decent contract from a desperate team.
Why so serious?

^^^ He doesn't love basketball. Is most likely coming back for some cash. As such, the odds do not favor him making a comeback of any substance

I was a big Tyrus fan and think his defense was underrated as the narrative became widely accepted that he was too small and always out of position. That just wasn't true, he lacked some discipline but not nearly as much as others on the team like Nocioni and his Ben Wallace like wingspan allowed him to play all but the real strong big men just fine. Not saying he was a defensive force, just that he was slightly on the above side of average and aside from Josh Smith, noone could rack up blocks/steals like him.

Those last two years in Charlotte, he was completely sapped of the athleticism that made him a decent NBA player (you could argue a good NBA player if you cared about things like PER). I followed him in Charlotte and something happened physically that just stole his vertical leap to the point I would argue he was less athletic than most NBA players. Obviously, that killed his game going from one of the most athletic players in the NBA to a relatively unathletic guy with a so so jump shot whose best offensive attributes had been beating people with his quickness and leaping ability. This video doesn't give me any glimmer of hope that his athleticism is back, and given it has been gone for 4 years now, I don't see it coming back.

Would love it if he regained it though, he sure could make a highlight.

Looks like not only does he have a chance for some cash but he's negotiating with a contender. He looks like he's going to be taking the role of James Johnson with Memphis. Good for him.

comeback yes. Comeback of substance remains to be seen. We don't know what he has going for him. Memphis I'm sure has nothing much to lose in this proposal. It doesn't work he can be let go.

Eddy Curry made a comeback with the Heat.

Why is ye of such little faith? I know he vastly underachieved with us but it's not like he killed somebody. It really looks like he's turned over a new leaf here and is ready to ball now.
