Butler is playing almost 40 minutes a game, should he renounce too? Did he renounce it already?

No he should not sit out nor should any one associated with the Bulls suggest it.

If he has never started in one he ain't just going to sit out now at this stage of his career when he has already won 2 titles as the man.

Love ya, Strat, but I'm surprised by this thread. I've never seen you as a grasping at straws kinda guy. The Bulls problems go way beyond Gasol's "freshness."
This said, I give you credit for "tryin' one." If I had even a hint of a clue of something that would fix this team, I'd have already contacted the Bulls FO.

Until the actual truth is more important to you than what you believe, you will never recognize the truth.

Honestly, when I posted, I forgot entirely about the Gasol vs. Gasol thing. Pretty bad considering I live in Memphis now and the Grizz are my second favorite team. :O I agree. I just really believe the Bulls have got to focus on using this time to get their roster as healthy as possible. I still don;t feel like we know who this team is going to be.

I should have left the ASG part out. Admittedly bad thought. but I do think Thibs needs to capitalize on the light schedule leading up to the break. It is pie in the sky thinking though, you are right. I expect Butler will log 80 minutes in the next 2 days and Gasol 70. Thibs will take the opposite approach: "We've had rest, and have more coming up, so I can play everyone as many minutes as I want to and leave Snell McD and Moore riding the pine".

Good to see that Thibs adopted most of my rest plan
Isn't it amazing what being up 30 early in Q4 can do for your minutes distribution?

This is incredibly stupid. First, it's a for-show-only game that will not be a grind like real games. Second, its a special moment for his household with both Gasol Bros starting and you shouldn't take that away from him. Third, NBA players actually care about these games.

You really need to read the thread. I have apologized profusely lol
I shouldn't have lead with the ASG comment in the headline, I just think the whole game is a farce. But the point I was making was that the bulls need to use this time when they have a very light schedule leading up to the ASG to get well and not be so concerned with outcomes until after the break. I did a poor job of it, but I still believe it.
Fortunately, tonight the 30 point lead forced Thibs hand, thus the green font in my post before this one.

Oh, as far as NBA players caring about these games, at least for the last several years that I tried to watch them (and I haven't watched one in about a decade) there weren't many players who seems to give a damn about the game. They care about the award. they care about the recognition. They obviously don't give a #$%^ about the game.

Gasol isn't going to pass on the game. It's not like he's going to play 40 minutes anyway.

They're getting a whole week off after the game, so he will be well rested...

The 20 odd minutes he'll play will break his legs.

Derrick even made a comment about 'when players get back from the AS game they are going to have to focus on the rest of the season'. As if worrying about this very thing. But yeah, he's going.
i believe his parents live in Memphis
but yeah Pau is not missing this game and i wouldn't ask him too

Basically this.
His brother and him are making history that night but I hope he warms the bench after tip off.
