I've always though an optimistic yet realistic hope for Rose post 2 injuries was to be Damien Lilliard level. I'd like to see that kind of production - 21.5 and 6.3 assists, 21.5 PER and .564 TS% - post all star break.

I think it all depends on if he keeps his shot selection the same as his last 4 games.

The number that matters the most to me would be: 28, as is played all 28 games and stayed healthy. Hopefully he can shoot a little better than the 41% from the field he has now, less TOs and better defense. Mostly be ready for the playoffs.

Anyways, this year he has been really good after getting rest and really bad in second nights of B2B, I expect him to be awesome at least the first couple of games after the ASB is over.

BTW I was checking the numbers on basketball reference and DRose shoots around 35% on second nights of B2B, the rest of the games 43 and change.

I don't know if everybody notice but Thibs was using Rose every time Blatt was putting Irving on the floor, Thibs changed his usual rotations to avoid having brooks on irving.

That being said, Brooks has be a much better player than Hinrich this year. The offensive numbers aren't close, and the defensive numbers are close. Brooks backing up Rose with 12 minutes a game and Hinrich not playing is ideal.

I definitely definitely want Kirk for the playoffs. I'd like him healthy, so I would play him less now, and that's without adding that he has been very bad. But I believe he has a lot of value in the playoffs.

He has shown that time and again, not sure why we ignore it. Remember the Boston series when we lost hope after, believe it or not, the sucky Kirk got hurt.

That was how many years ago?? You're kidding right? If we're counting on Kirk for any significant contributions in the playoffs we are ****, period.

what the heck was Lebron doing with his hands inside his jersey all the time? Looked to me like he was trying to stretch it out or something

He was warming up. The ice under the floor at the UC made it too cold on the court for him.

Snell was kicking butt last Summer League the same way hes playing now. Hopefully Dougie does this next year after he drops 40ppg next Summer League

Even though some really obscure players, who remained obscure, have "dominated summer league", you have a point. Some players, especially young rookies after one season, do really show up well later in the NBA season after doing the kind of things Tony did in Vegas.

The interesting thing about Snell in SL is that he wasn't being used as a 2/3 but he was a true combo guard. The Bulls played a lot of Tony Snell at PG in SL and he really shined with the ball in his hands. His handle and passing game was shockingly good to me in the SL... no hyperbole, but Tony Snell was arguably the MVP of the Vegas SL and that was saying a lot. He looked like the veteran and the all star of the SL out there in Vegas and I just remember being impressed with his ball handling. shooting and passing.

I've been saying Snell is MVP after I balled out of control with him on 2k earlier this season.

But holy **** this board is absurd. Do we only know how to live in the two extremes of the spectrum? Everyone realizes its an 82 game season and it is possible to live safely in the middle right?

First of all, yes, snell hitting shots is great. But it's only the ASB and we have 38 games left. If i am an opposing coach in the playoffs I am still doubling/helping on rose's drives hard and taking my chances with inexperienced snell. He has to prove he can play consistent for 7 games against the same defense let alone multiple series.

The cavs were missing love- and while he isn't having as quality a season as butler, I think he means more to his team than butler does because Love has more impact on their system than butler does on our system.

The biggest positive for me is the returning of Noah- everyone can claim we live or die by rose, but Noah being 100% healthy and active has such a large impact on every player for the team.

Things from last night I was most pleased with in order:

Noah
Snell
Butler Rest
Rose- i have not doubted rose. This game was right in line with how he has been progressing all season long.

A small ball lineup of:

Kyrie
Ray Allen (lets say)
JR
LeBron
Love

that could be deadly.

It would be deadly for Cleveland defense. Irving, Allen & Love all on the floor together would be hilarious. If that line up were to see many minutes, the opposing team would score at will, even if Cleveland have the ability to make it rain from deep should they catch fire.

+1. They would have to score almost every time to be effective because they aren't getting many rebounds and they aren't getting many stops.

I hope the rise of Snellator, the health of McDermott and Dunleavy, the flexibility of Niko and the good play of Taj mean fewer minutes for Butler and Pau from here on, cuz I really don't want our guys going into the playoffs looking like they are coming off two-a-days again.

28 games isn't much time to do that while also figuring out playoff roles and getting Rose and Noah revved up to 100%, but I'm sure Dr. Thibs is spending his all star break coming up with an evil master plan.
