OKC at United Center, March 5, tickets: Ticketmaster/Stubhub?

Post#1 » by Polish_Sausage » Thu Feb 5, 2015 7:44 am

Hi everybody,

First of all sorry for starting off with a thread not really contributing to discussion on Chicago Bulls and sports in general.

I am from Poland and I have never bought tix for an NBA game.

My friend living here in Poland as well is a die-hard Bulls fan and he's a lucky dude as he's visiting Chicago in March. What's the best way to buy the tickets for the OKC game on March 5?

I googled it a bit myself of course and it seems to me that there are two viable options:

Either

ticketmaster (fixed prices, you just buy a seat which is still available and that's pretty much it)

or

Stubhub (as far as I understand tix sold by other fans).

What is your opinion on/experience with stubhub? Do the prices tend to change as the game nears (go up, go down)? What is the best time to buy a ticket @ Stubhub? How do you get the ticket when you buy it @ Stubhub? Is there any Stubhub office anywhere close to the United Center where the ticket can be collected? Or do you get a notification on yr phone?

Thanks a lot!

Both are safe options to go with and both can typically provide e tickets to print. Ticketmaster will have retail pricing however stubhub may have discounts. For a premium game like OKC, there may not be any discounts available based on demand. Either way, your friend will be able to experience a Bulls game no problem.

Ticketmaster will try and stick you behind a basket. Personally I like stubhub much better. I like to be able to choose exactly what section my seat will be in. Most tickets being sold on Stubhub are season ticket holders selling extra seats, and season ticket holders tend to have good seats.

I'm from Germany and helped a friend to get Nets playoff tickets last year. We used Stubhub and had absolutely no problems with anything. He had great seats, too.

Would totally use Stubhub again.

Edit: btw, they email you your tickets and you print them out before you travel to Chicago. And even if that's not possible, I guess there should be a Stubhub office near the United Center. At least that wasn't a problem in New York.

I might be selling my 2 tickets for the game, but if you're coming all the way from Poland, you probably want better than the 300 level. With that said, just go with Stubhub, unless you find something on Ticketmaster(I would be surprised if they had any left over tickets).

Hi guys, sorry to bother you again.

We followed your advice and we have been checking StubHub frequently however it seems that single tickets are hardly available (same story with ticketsnow.com). Unfortunately my friend needs only one ticket. We got in touch directly with Stubhub and they told us to wait a bit until a couple of days before the game - some of the ticket holders being afraid that the tickets won't sell will probably split them and try to sell them as single tickets. I believe there is no way to contact the ticket holders on Stubhub so you just have to wait until someone has mercy on you and offers a single ticket.

We have even called the Chicago hotel my friend is staying at and we asked about the tickets and they told us more or less the same - Stubhub is the best idea.

Should we just take our chances and wait as there will be a single ticket offer for sure?

Would you guys by any chance have any spare tickets that you want to sell?

Or does anybody have the same problem - maybe we just could buy 2 tickets together.

Thank you!

Kris

Singles do typically become available closer to the game, but, there's fewer so, when you see one that interests you, it's recommended that you get it right away.

Another idea, depending on the available credit, would be to buy either a pair or set of 3 and then re-list extra ticket(s) on Stubhub. You pay a little more since you'll have fee's taken from the tickets when you re-sell them, but, if that's your only option, it's better than nothing.

All I know is don't use Craigslist. I was scammed a week ago out of tickets. I'll just stick to Stubhub from now on.

Sometimes if you go to the UC they have tickets become available in the hours leading up to the game. The seat locations and prices vary, though. That's how I got in last week after being scammed.

Yes, craigslist is absolutely a must avoid. Scammer city.

Also, although you didn't mention it, in case someone is reading this and considering picking up tickets as well, NEVER buy from (or if you're in the position to sell to) a scalper at the UC. You might as well save yourself the trouble and throw your money or tickets away. Not only are the tickets counterfeit, but, a lot of the money the scalpers try to pass off to you is well.

I would just continue to check Stubhub and Ticketmaster (which also has season ticket holders looking to sell their seats) in the days leading up to the game.

In the wake of Derrick's injury, demand for tickets is going to drop at least a little if not a ton, and your friend should be able to find a good deal for one ticket if he's patient.

Definately buy from a trusted/verified source if you're travelling almost 5,000 miles for a game!
You don't want to be outside the stadium dealing with the scalpers.

NBA.com has tickets too which run thru ticketsnow/Ticketmaster-

http://www.nba.com/tickets/tix.html?ls=iref:nba:gnav

Take a look there, lots of single seats in the 200 level for this game. Single seat should be easy.
Hopefully you can get them from a season ticket holder so you have a nice mommento vs a print out.

Stubhub is almost the same thing but not thru Ticketmaster. If you do a deal there and can't print your tickets, they have things called Last Minute Service centers where you can pick up tickets a few hours to minutes before the game. It's a few blocks from the UC., they will tell you where it is. Tickets you buy on Stub Hub that you can't print are usually from season ticket holders.

Enjoy your visit, and go to the bars in the UC for beers, don't drink that $9 BUD/MGD the vendors walk around with.
You can get a good beer like a Revolution or Laganitas for the same price!

Use stubhub. I once bought a pair of tickets to a game, and received tickets to a different game. Of course I didn't realize it until it was time to go to the game. I called stubhub and they gave me better seats for my troubles.

Have had zero issues with all the other tickets I purchased. And you can score some deals if you wait last minute. Although, I wouldn't risk it with the trip you'd be making to go to a game.
