Rose / Brooks
Butler / Hinrich
Dunleavey / Mirotic / Snell
Noah / Gibson / Mirotic
Gasol / Noah
10 man rotation.

I just don't see him doing it in the playoffs. I could see Snell losing minutes to Niko/Dunleavy at the 3 and Hinrich/Butler at the 2.

In 2010/11 he was regularly using 10-11 guys. The last few were just getting spot minutes, which is what I see happening now.

Just to add here, every year I see people writing about how playoff rotations get shortened to 7 or 8 guys. This is a myth. Basically 7 never ever happens and 8 doesn't really either. Typically the backup minutes gets reduced as you said and some guys just getting spot minutes.

2011 playoffs had a ten man rotation

Rose/Watson
Bogans/Brewer
Deng/Korver
Boozer/Gibson
Noah/Asik

Thomas got added to the rotation with Asik's injury and played in a few games situationally. But look at the minutes of guys 5-9

Bogans - 19
Gibson - 18
Korver - 17
Brewer - 16
Asik/Thomas - 10
Watson - 9

Assume Noah/Boozer = Noah/Gasol, Rose plays Rose minutes and Jimmy plays Lu minutes, divvy those minutes among five guys.

As long as we never ever have to pair Brooks and Kirk again I can live with whatever Thibs decides to throw out there. There's no reason to go small with the flexibility we have, and those two are just horrendous together.

If you go through the game logs, you had 10-11 guys actually playing every game. What Thibs was doing, and I see him doing this again, is a few of these end of bench guys will get a very short run. Like 3-5 minutes. If they do well or the match ups dictate it, that guy will get another run.

Basically, I see guys like Snell getting 5mpg plus whatever minutes he earns or the team needs from him.

One thing also I would like to note is that Thibs has to do his darnedest to avoid any stretch of Kirk and Noah lineup. That is just asking to struggle on offense.

Yep that's pretty rough when you end up with both of those two above the stripe trying to facilitate offense at the same time. Kind of 3 on 5 look.

My playoff rotation would be:

Rose (34)/Brooks (20)
Butler (40)/Snell (10)
Dunleavy(30)/Snell (10)
Noah(28)/Mirotic (20)
Gasol (28)/Taj (20)

More or less for each big depending on who is having a good game. But Mirotic EXCLUSIVELY at the 4. He is a mismatch there, while a liability at the 3. I don't get how Thibs does not see this.

Playoff Rotation: How deep for the bench

Bulls bench is only as deep and Thibs stubbornly wants it. Its also looking like Snell is the odd man out unfortunately

Gotta run ten man. They put this team together, use the depth. Waste of resources if they don't imo.

Rose / Brooks
Butler / Hinrich
MDJ / Snell
Gasol / Mirotic
Noah / Gibson

I'd like to replace Moore for Kirk but we all know he won't. Anything Kirk can do, he can do better, plus he's athletic.
