There's nothing we can do. The only thing we can do is support him, have his back, and hope he comes back as an all star level talent, potentially superstar level. We won't get anything worthwhile for him.
Actually what the coach should do is sit down with him privately and tell him he hurts the team every time he takes a pull up 3-pointer. He is by far the worst 3-point shooter on the team. A pull up 3-pointer with a hand in your face is a terrible shot for anyone, but if for some reason we want to run our offense that way, there are 6-7 guys on the team who are better at that than Rose.
He still has the ability to help us obviously and be a valuable player, but his shot selection has been abysmal. He could be twice as good as he is right now by just playing within his limits. Any other level of basketball he would get benched for taking the shots he does.
Thibs needs to tell him to attack the hoop and set up his teammates. No more 3's. Similar to how Spoelstra convinced LeBron and Wade to stop jacking 3's a few years ago and they both became much more efficient players. If they can sacrifice a part of their game for the good of the team than so can Rose.
