those are the only choices i could possibly see my self convincing myself are good ideas. and im not sure they all are good ideas anyway.

How could Avery Johnson not be on your list? At this point, he's tops on mine.

Well, because he was a bad coach.... :) If he were a bad guy AND a bad coach, the team would have quit on him completely. But I surmise, by the fact that the team actually kept working, that at the very least the guy was a good guy.

Avery is a horrendous coach and is in no way getting this job.

He's criticized the Bulls multiple times and didn't even get an interview last time.

You should add Tom Thibodeau to your list.

The bottom line is, this whole **** up situation falls into two people's laps: Jerry Reinsdorf and John Paxson. They decided to hire Skiles, they decided to fire Skiles, they decided to keep Pax in the organization and 'promote' Gar, they decided to hire a completely green coach with 0 experience as opposed to a couple guys with many, many years of experience. Every bad move has been made by those two. Their decisions have brought us to where we are today. Vinny was just looking to break into coaching. Hell, he probably thought in the back of his head that he had no chance at all. It's the equivalent of if the Bears hired Russ Grimm that one year that they eventually hired Lovie. That guy would have been dead meat in two years as well.

This has to be the longest firing in NBA history. We knew it would happen in December. Just fire him, already, and get on with the coaching search. If 2008 is any indication, the process could take a while.

My question is, what if Vinny really did have NOTHING to do with the progress of Derrick Rose? Never once did he ever draw up a play that worked, he never adjusted properly, he never spoke well, he always seemed confused, why would anyone believe he's some guru who knows how to get his players better? Last summer, Derrick worked with coach Cal, not Vinny, and Randy Brown is in charge of player development. We all know Vinny's a boob and we don't know him personally. Maybe he was some prick who was hard-headed and didn't listen and was always wrong. Who knows? But he had to go, the front office obviously didn't like him personally, so let's move on. We also didn't hire Doug Collins because of the exact OPPOSITE reason, so I don't know why everyone assumes Vinny is just some sweet innocent boy who the Bulls kicked in the mud.

I'd also like to remind everybody that we gave him a chance that NO other team was willing to give and in turn he'll get another coaching job he never would've gotten, so let's not cry ourselves to sleep over this

Derrick Rose himself has admitted that VDN helped him become a better player. Granted, D.Rose could of just been saying that to be nice, but one thing I always greatly appreciated about the things Rose said about his relationship with VDN is that those guys watch video TOGETHER all the time.

Having a mind that understands the game the way VDN does (yeah, his coaching was subpar, but he's been around the game for 20 years...he has plenty of things he could show a guard) break down video tape with a young guard who by all admissions isn't that bright can only do wonders for the young guard. If the next coach doesn't do that with Rose, I'm going to be highly pissed.

Horrendous, huh? Pretty strong words there. I'd be interested in reading why you think he's horrendous?

And/or previously Del Harris. He wasn't a shabby head coach himself:
LA 95: 53 wins
LA 96: 56 wins
LA 97: 61 wins

I'm not that surprised our offense turned to garbage after he left. Too bad he seems to be constantly after other people's jobs.

I still trust Paxson and have his back....I liked Vinny, but if Paxson feels he should be gone, then so be it.. I think Paxson will do what's best for the team and get a big time free agent and coach and we will move forward in the right direction and become contenders

Seems like Paxson and Vinny just can't get along no more.

Poor Vinny!

I don't see JVG being interested at all so give me Byron Scott or Doug Collins or Avery Johnson.

Collins IMO is a very good X and O guy and will be big this summer free agent wise. Just get one of those three and I'll be extremely happy

lol at Avery Johnson being a "horrible" coach. He got a tremendously raw deal at Dallas.

List:
1. Phil
2. AJ
3. JVG
4. Collins
5. Scott

That's it as far as it goes. Calipari won't leave Kentucky unless we give him one of the more ridiculous coaching contracts in the league.
