Boozer + Lebron, + trade Deng for a sg and backup bigman, and i'll ....I wont finish that sentence

I would only want Boozer if Lebron comes in, so do what Boozer did to the Cavs, give an assurance and if it doesn't work out - break it. Paxson revenge so to speak

Reason I don't want Boozer without Lebron, is he's too much of an injury risk to commit max years/dollars on a team that won't contend for the championship

well, which other team can realistically sign those 3 players, and as I said that combination is long shot

No one can sign those 3 outright - not even Miami

And the boys ain't taking a signficant paycut to possibly play together either

The Heat and the Bulls are the closest to it however and it involves moving Beasley or Deng respectively ...and I would suggest the Bulls have a better chance than Miami based on 3 key things

1. chicago is neutral ground . no one is joining someone else's existing team

2. deng is in play with seemingly a better market than beasley

3. chicago is "home" to wade with personal considerations of children close etc

Maybe im wrong, but I couldve sworn I saw that the Cavs are last. It Bulls, then Cavs. But again if that is the case its still a great position to be in considering they will be the last of the free agent teams regardless.

Plus I just would assume that he would give the Cavs the final pitch just out of loyalty for the Cavs organization

Obviously we want that scenario but IF we arent getting Lebron or Wade then I want Boozer regardless, but we'd have to make good use of the $ left over to fill the SG position

Rose/?/Deng/Boozer/Noah with Gibson off the bench is still a sick lineup

No argument on 'taking a paycut', but Chicago doesn't even have two max contracts - To match the state of Miami payroll Chicago will have to cut Noah/Deng/Taj etc, and only keep Rose(approx same dollars as Beasly)

I dug up this old LeBron quote:

"It's a hell of a blow," James said of Boozer's move to Utah. "Anybody knows that. My feeling was that Booze was going to be around. But when he called me, I told him he's got to do what's best for his family."

Hopefully there's no bad blood between the two.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

good line up, but still not getting past veteran teams, I'd rather take a shot at rehabing a player like Al Jefferson (still young/3 years left on the contract). If it works out, they'll grow together with Rose and challenge 3-4 years down the line

Not quite true

As it stands right now we can offer 1 Max and we're somewhere between $500k to $1M off a 2nd Max

Its been reported that there is a deal ready for James Johnson that would open up 2 Max's

And obviously Luol Deng is in play as well ....now if we parcel Joakim Noah up in this mix...I think we get within a bees dick of 3 Max

And it would leave us with Omer Asik as our Center ...but we would need to augment that we move forward with vet minimum signings and MLE signings next season

I wonder if he still feels that way, Boozer bolting conceivably cost Lebron a championship since he could've been that second option Cleveland sorely missed

And the other thing is - is that the Big 3 in chicago also have Rose and Asik ( mid 1st round pick worthy maybe fringe lottery ) whereas Miami has Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony

This is assuming you guys moved Beasley and could open up 3 spots and we could move Deng, JJ and Noah for the same capacity of 3 spots

In this comparison , and again , because of the "neutral ground" argument and the major market / endorsement / off court dollar opportunities - a rational mindset tells you advantage to Chicago

that's not very different from what I said, the Bulls will have to purge their roster, save Rose and min salary player. In this type of set up (when you have Rose/Wade/Lebron dominating the ball) it not clear that Bosh is more valuable than Noah/Taj and some higher quality compl players

Yep. Don't disagree with you

I question that too

Like I posted in Wade's 2nd meeting with Bulls thread .....I reckon there is a strong chance Wade drops Bosh and Riley like a school bag if James chooses chicago over cleveland

And yes I believe chicago or cleveland is an either / or deal for James right now with everyone else out of the race

I have a sinking feeling, though Chicago is a legit alternative, he won't have the stomach to leave to a division rival and face the hostility of the fans. In addition, he has *guaranteed* down sides like less money/ less influence within the organization. Given that winning championship in Chicago is still an uncertainty, it'll take a brave man

Aside from that, however, team sources were encouraged by their Thursday evening meeting with Carlos Boozer. He could be had for the roughly $13.4 million remaining of the $30 million of salary-cap space the Bulls possess. That's assuming $16.6 million is earmarked to a maximum-salary type player like Wade or James.

Doug said that it starts at about $16.2 million, so either that report (about his taking $13+) is wrong or he's offering us a pretty big discount.

You don't commit one of your slots when Bosh is still out there and especially now that Wade has suddenly become a possibility.

Return to Chicago Bulls
