Again, the fact that it started as an April fools joke doesn't stop it from being a highly debatable topic.

I imagine any April fool's joke with a highly debatable topic in the headline would get discussed. If the headline read "Carlos Boozer says he should play sometimes in the 4th quarter" or "D.J. Augustin says he wants to start over Kirk", I imagine people would want to discuss it even if the thread started as a joke.

I'm more amused by the number of people who think Jimmy is the kind of player you can keep for $5m.

Like it or not this is a Thibs coached team and a guy like Jimmy means more to the Bulls then others.

Im not sure what the magic number is, but get cheap with Jimmy and Thibs will probably be more then half way out the door to some other franchise who'll let him mold the team more to his liking

Well, I wish you luck in arguing over an April Fool's joke. Hopefully the board will eventually come to realize that Jimmy's fake contract demands are an accurate assessment of his true market value.

Please note that this thread was an April Fools joke. On an unrelated note, the poster known as Morten Jensen has been waived for insubordination.

Being drafted late but becoming a solid starting NBA player still on a rookie contract sucks incredibly bad for the player. The NBA owners have it so good!

Jimmy Butler made $1.1M this year!!! Geeeez! The CBA sucks so much for rookies who are actually good.

Because of that fact and because of the fact the Bulls will continue to milk Jimmy Butler for another 1 or 2 years, I can't get upset at whatever figure Jimmy Butler eventually wants to sign for.

Plus he came into the league after 4 years in college. This is his big contract coming up, perhaps one more after that if in good health. I know that Jimmy loves it here and will sign at a moderate discount but he can't and shouldn't sign for cheap, even as a Bulls fan I must admit that.
