I don't want to force a square peg in a round hole, but I HIGHLY prefer a new HC with, you know, actual experience with high level winning as an NBA HC. Does such a person exist other than an Avery Johnson or somebody?

As much as I disliked Boylen, it did not feel great reading that he got fired. Hate to see anyone lose their job. Hope he lands on his feet somewhere else -- he just was not the best fit for this team.

Glad we're moving on.

Yep. It's kinda refreshing:

The fans and the league have NO idea what's happening with this roster in the next 45 days. That's an advantage.

Also you have to consider that if we do have a second Bubble, we probably would want a new coach to start the process.

We have entered the longest offseason in NBA history. If we get a coach soon, It gives us plenty of time to implement their new system for the Bulls.

The real question is this.......

Did AK make Jim punch out on the time clock one last time after telling him he was being let go?

Enquiring minds want to know.

I hope the players go full on "Office Space" on that clock.

Team Chef was just about ready to plate but Jimbo just had to call a timeout!

Glad to see Jimbo gone!

I wonder how much capital AK had to use with JR to get this done? Remember JR has been complaining about money.

I am intrigued by Jacque Vaughn's success coaching the Nets in the bubble.

He went 58-158 in Orlando.

It's just 1 of many steps, but a step in the right direction is a step in the right direction. Glad to hear they are moving on from Boylen, if nothing else than for the moral boost with the fanbase.

He was coach the year Dwight left. The GM gave him a roster in transition that was intended to tank.
When Vaughn was fired, they brought Scott Skiles in. Skiles QUIT the job because it was clear he thought the Orlando GM was completely incompetent.

I wish Boylen the best, but I will say with no hesitation that for about 50 games, he coached the worst offense and rotations I'd ever seen, and I watched the Floyd and Cartwright Bulls, Skiles and Boylan, Vinny, Hoiberg... It was brutal. I guess what made it particularly brutal was that the 00-02, 05/06, 07/08, 13/14 (Thibs masterfully played the hand he was dealt) squads for example... they had these super serious play-making and scoring issues besides for random relief players who weren't very good anyway (Mercer, Ben Gordon, DJ, etc.). Boylen had 4 "shooters" in his rotation (actually 5 if you count Arci), and somehow they all shot below-average percentages.

I will also say that even though I don't think anything of this roster, the players do have a chance to prove us wrong, at least partially.

Counter-point: he wasn't wrong when he called out the team's conditioning and effort, though the infamous Celtics post-game was a terrible way to do it.
