It’s nice to see. I mean when GSW looked like stacked monsters they were hard to like, but once again as underdogs Steph looks great and not done yet.

Not sure where he actually ranks on just scoring ability. But shooting ability, he is sitting on a shelf by himself.

Just a guy like Klay would be an impressive shooter in a world that Steph doesn’t exist... he is on a place by himself. Hard to compare

It’s too bad Klay got hurt again... this hurts everyone’s chances to see Steph on the playoff stage more. Once they shed Durant, the idea of the Warriors became fun again imo.

It's a shame that the rest of the Warriors aren't much, because Steph is playing MVP quality ball.

41 points on 75% TS over his last 9 games. 10 or more threes in 4 of his last 5 games. This is an all-time run he’s on and it’s wasted on this Warriors team.

I have to say I really enjoy watching the Knicks this season. I honestly cannot believe I find myself pulling for them whenever I watch them. With Thibs and Taj and Rose I really want to see them go far. They are my dark horse in the EC. They are playing as well as ANYBODY right now. They can defend and they play with a lot of intensity. Randle has become one hell of a player. Wow. Does it on both ends and is a terrific leader. I think the Knicks can wind up in that 4th spot if they keep playing like they are.

Fun game between the Knicks and Hornets right now. Two of the hottest teams. Charlotte has won 5 of their last 6 and the Knicks are on a tear going for their 7th in a row. Great to see Taj out there still getting after it on the boards and blocking shots. The Knicks just play for each other and they play the right way. Make the right pass, make the right reads.

Watching that Knicks game makes me wish we still had Derrick Rose. He was great tonight. 7 in a row for the Knicks.

I don't watch much of the Knicks but I hear a lot of chatter about them and never really hear RJ Barrett mentioned a lot.

What's the consensus on him these days.

He seems rather solid, like a Loul Deng type.

It's going to be really interesting next year when the Knicks have a ton of cap space. All they have on the books next year is basically Randle and a handful of rookie contracts. Even Randle has a 4m buyout but I doubt they exercise that after the year he's having. Thibs has done a masterful job making all the pieces work, but is that going to extend beyond this year when he loses most, if not all his veteran players?

I'd imagine if they can't get a couple star players to join the knicks, they go back to signing 1/2 year deals with vets and running it back while hoping that Barrett and Quickley keep improving as players.

Can someone answer something for me?

Regarding the play in and lottery, how does it work?

Are the teams that finished 9th and 10th still included in the lottery? Even if they make the playoffs via play in tournament?

Or are they removed from lottery if they make it?

I think I know how it works but I'm not certain.

If you survive the play-in and make the playoffs you are out of the lottery. If you don't survive the play-in, your regular season record is ranked with the other lottery teams.

I am ok with it. I have seen Steph surrounded by stars. I have seen him with just two stars. I have always wondered what he can do if it was just mainly him. It's awesome. I love it. And I say this as someone who always rooted against the warriors.

If the 9th or 10th make the playoffs they lose the lottery pick. The 8th seed will go in the lottery instead.

While we may not have had a title still... if the Bulls held the course this team would have still been competitive all these years. Butler could have evolved into the lead etc... granted egos would have never allowed it but there is something to be said about holding the course. Even Dougie whom I loathed would have served well on this squad. Hell in the alternate reality scenario Dinwiddie may have stayed or Thibs works his small guard magic and makes Cam become something. With that team a couple years ago AD may very well have the Bulls on his list of teams to go to. Or maybe the Bulls make the bold trade Toronto did for Leonard. Ah alternate realities are fun. Hell the 3 alphas team is way better under Thibs too as he would t have lost that team. Anyone get the sense that I was upset we let Thibs go? At the time and still today? For Hoiberg. Wtf.

He's a Lu in training. In theory, RJ is a valuable two-way player for the Knicks, the quiet guy who plugs the lineup's gaps, as Lu once did for us. In practice, RJ isn't yet good enough on defense to play the Lu Deng role;' instead, he's just an OK wing whom the Knicks play because they don't have somebody better. But early days yet. And he is getting better.

My alternate dream was...what if the Bulls simply kept Thibs into 15-16, traded FRP/Snell/Doug/Niko/Noah (since he was expiring and walking, and apparently not getting along with Jimmy) for a quality PG (Lowry, Dragic, Jrue) who could backup Rose or play alongside him, and a wing (Danny Green, expiring Lu, Oladipo, whoever), and then headed into the wild 2016 off-season.... where everybody was basically given (nearly) max contract space with the $20m jump plus Rose’s expiring the following year.

Instead it was a domino meltdown effect. We had a LOT of assets still, in summer 2015. Sure glad we kept all those FRPs over trading for “mediocre” vets with low trade values (ie Lowry, Jrue and Green) - Portis, Valentine, Doug and Niko sure panned out.

They basically fell in love with themselves (every FrP will be a Butler!) instead of Jimmy.

In their first decade, GarPax had drafted Kirk, Lu, Jo, Derrick, Taj, and Jimmy over a 10-year period. Four All Stars, a guy who was 2nd in the 6th man voting, and a good starter who had been invited to the U.S. Olympics camp. They thought they could do that for the next decade, too. Hey, why not?

I am a big, big believer that noise overwhelms skill when evaluating the results of small sample sizes In other words, GarPax were not as insightful as it seemed during their first decade, and not as incompetent as it now seems over the next several years. That's not a comforting belief because the follow-up implication is that AK's success might also owe mostly to luck, and that there's no particular reason to assume that he will find us the next Murray or Jokic.

Success / peak of that group coincides with Thibs. I'd be interested to see GarPax record minus Thibs years. Lu, Kirk, and Jo went through Skiles and Vinny stretch, we didn't look like a special team. Rose, Taj, and Jimmy went through Thibs and Hoiberg stretch. Would they turn out as good without Thibs early in their career? Among that group, I think Rose is probably the only one that would turn out the same player under any coach, he's that special.
