Washington with way better defensive intensity so far.
Isaiah not doing much, and what coincidence, Boston can't score.

Mark K wrote:So to be clear, you want the Wizards diverting their offense away from Wall and Beal and routing plays through Otto Porter, who can't create a shot, and have him shooting jumpers just because he has an imp guarding him?
Bad idea.
If Porter was a more dynamic offensive player, sure. Go for it. He isn't though, hence why they can hide Thomas on Porter for possessions.
Not a matter of diverting your offense, its just way easier to look for a guy with a foot height advantage, he only needs the barest space to get off a shot, you can cut him into the paint and look to hit him inside, just he's going to get way easier opportunities.
Anyway they're not really putting IT on him much that I've seen.

Imagine that. Washington abusing Isaiah Thomas in the post. What a wonderful concept.

Washington is clearly the more talented team. But their lack of focus and mental toughness has already cost them the first 2 games. They've had 15 point leads in every game this series. This is the first time Washington has played harder than Boston all series. Typical 0-2 desperation.

Yeah these teams are too close for a sweep. But Washington has to prove they can play in this gear all the time.
WAS has alternated on/off lethargic mode for years now, but to do it in the playoffs, does not show a very serious team.

Boston can't defend anybody who can play offense, meaning any playoff team except the Bulls. The two smallest guards in the league, no rim protector, and their bigs who come off the bench aren't defensive dynamos either. They're gonna give up 110+ pretty much every game, so they'd better damn well score if they are going to win games.

They can't play at this gear all the time. But Boston probably won't score 120 a game like they did in Games 1 and 2. My original prediction was Washington in 6, could very well still happen. But it wouldn't surprise me if Boston won in 7 either. They just compete harder and are mentally tougher than the Wiz.

I love that Oubre went after that dirty ass Olenyk. I feel like 2/3s of the league see that and think "right on, man". Knocked his ass over, haha

This is going to be one of those 'series doesn't start till someone wins a road game' series.
So right now the Wizards aren't moving me much.

I thought the same thing. What was Marcus Smart doing? Was he trying to get in there? I see him yelling and it looks like Crowder is holding him back.

I don't think that many neutrals like Boston.

Re: Around the NBA: Playoff Edition #2
I like some of them, amd though he just beat out asses, I do like a little guy playing so well. jerebko is one of those players I like for no rational reason. Horford is a great third piece (but not the best second). I just really, really dislike Olenyk for his multiple injury-risk moves he has made the past few years. And Smart's flopping and inexplicably scrappy 3 point shooting irritates the hell out of me.
Maybe its my Irish heritage, but the Celtics are the only Boston franchise I don't loathe.

Smart and Olynk are just brutal. I don't like the little flailer either, but I can see how somebody could be on his side. For the Wiz, Gortat fouls constantly and never seems to get called. He could be annoying but he doesn't bother me. Mahimni is acting like a punk today. Is that typical for him?

The guy I'm coming to appreciate most on Boston is Avery Bradley. He defends his butt off, knocks down open shots and plays hard, tough and smart. Perfect role player.

Yep. And he can guard PGs as well as wings. Back in the day, he was the only guy I remember who stuffed Nate Robinson when we had little Nate. I mean, Nate often stuffed himself, would have games where he chucked and missed. But I don't remember anybody just denying him the ability to either drive or get space for a shot. So Nate got Bradley out of the game by flopping twice and getting AB into foul trouble.

Re: Around the NBA: Playoff Edition #2
Joe Ingles, Shelvin Mack, and Joe Johnson are guarding
Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Steph Curry
I feel like this game has maybe 15 more minutes left in it (real time)

It's almost like the talent difference between a 1 and a 16 seed in the NCAA tournament.
