So unless Morey found some loophole with the timing of the deals, its impossible.

And even if it was possible thru some crazy loophole, he's asking Melo to wait to circumvent the basics of the CBA and sign for a team with McHale as a coach and 7 vet mins.
Honesty is my only excuse.

Isn't Melo supposed to do Houston and Dallas today both? ---> yep and at this pace could squeeze another

Sorry Houston, gotta run to Dallas. No, sorry, can't do dinner. No. I don't want any chicken-fried-steak.

Good news for the Bulls. We had 9 hours. They had 2. Maybe Melo told them "I have no intention of signing here, thank you for your time."

Like what I said, Morey disrespected Lin. That's not good for the Rockets luring future FA's.

Melo should be concern about the loyalty in Houston.

What a shock. Players are nothing more than game pieces to Morey.

It may actually play into the Bulls' "We Are Family" presentation.
Honesty is my only excuse.

I think a little over an hour. Took at least 20 minutes to get introduced to each of Dwights kids and baby-momma's.

Didn't realize he was such a Christian

I watched the 'Linsanity' doc like 3 weeks ago, and pretty much everything he said was to follow God's way and believe in him the most when things are not working out the way you want, so yeah, big time religious guy.

it's a little over dramatic though, you're just moving teams in the NBA I don't think that requires a dramatic bible quote.

That's what I was just trying to figure out. It must have been a lot less than 2 hours of face time.

Why even make the trip?

Reminds me of the Lebron meetings. Everybody took multiple hours, Clippers took one

I think I figured it out, but it requires New York and Toronto to play ball.

Houston sends Lin + 2015 first to Philly for cap space.

Houston sends Asik to New Orleans for Austin Rivers + 2015 pick

New York signs and trades Melo to Houston for capspace for some incentive. New York gets a huge trade asset with the TPE and perhaps a pick or international prospect. What I am unclear on here is what salary Melo would be at. Would it be at Rockets cap space amount or Rockets cap space + the 125% or 5 million.

Toronto signs and trades Lowry to Houston for Rivers + Jones + Dmo + Motie + whomever to get to Lowry's starting salary.

He's talking about the 'slap in the face' Houston gave him by having the Melo pics in Lin's number while Lin is still on the team.

Everyone knows Lin is gone, but its still kind of a crappy thing to do.

Yeah, the Rockets beat guy tweeted the pic of Melo's limo arriving 2 hours ago.

I think the same way. The doc was ok, but too much spreading God's word for my taste haha.

Thats interesting because noth Mac&Spiegs show and B&B on 670 were ripping Simmons yesterday for being 'out of town stupid' about Reinsdorf. Mentioned the same things - Jay Williams, Eddie Robinson, Tim Thomas.

"Out of town stupid" is a perfect way of putting it.

Simmons always gets a bee in his bonnet when he thinks teams are cheaping out. See his nonstop flogging of the OKC Harden trade. He often makes good points in his rants, but just as often he exaggerates or forms a biased view of what actually happened. So Simmons has the "Reinsdorf is cheap" meme burned into his brain. Oh well, he's not the only one.

In any event, it's no particular talent to talk about how you'd spend more of other people's money than they are.

Dude I wouldn't cut Simmons any slack. He makes a lot of money to talk basketball and ignorance to the history and facts of the topic he is discussing is not forgivable.

Look at a guy like David Aldridge who doesn't go over the top with criticism and has decent to excellent knowledge of almost every team. He also doesn't just make sh%t up if he doesn't know he says so.

Thats because NO needs to clear salary out before they can finalize the deal. Do you think Houston is going to renege on the deal they agreed to with NO? Or are you suggesting that Toronto and NY are going to S&T Lowry and Melo for Lin and Asik?

I am very impressed with you sir and the Chicago fans on this thread. You guys get an A+ in my book. I don't think Houston will renege but I heard NO and HOU were working on a big deal that took them into the late hours before the draft. I don't know about you but Asik for cap space and a pick does not strike me as a big deal. I'm hearing that NO wants to trade Anderson whom Houston had previous interest in and who Dwight likes. Maybe if Houston strikes out on free agents and he goes to Houston? Its all just speculation but I was told there is more to that deal than what was reported.
