If we turn Jimmy into the 3 players, plus sign Otto Porter, there really isn't as big of a drop off from Jimmy. If anything we may actually be a deeper, younger team. Now what do we do with D Wade and Rondo?

Is that assured? I'm not so sure Musiq isn't wrong and these clowns will now trying to start making moves for players to help us win more.
Idiotically thinking Jimmy was somehow holding back Hoiball and not understanding the analytics that show instead he just about carried the team entirely to its 40 wins.
Even if the Bulls aren't that stupid, and do try to be terrible, they won't have 'plenty of chances'. They might get one more chance next year if we're really horrible. But at that point once top 10 picks start adding up (Lavine, Dunn, Laurie, next year pick), good chance you at least get a couple Hinrich's that then make you no longer bad enough for shots at Lebron type talents. Then you just get stuck back into the treadmill range (35-40 wins), except without a player as good as Jimmy.

Jimmy led the team in scoring in that series and had a TS% of 58%.
This is like debating with 8 year olds.
15.6 ppg ... Very impressive....
Agreed, very impressive for a player who had no offensive role and was one of the best defensive players in the league.

Rondo is certainly gone, Wade is going to want all his money and no one else is going to want him at that amount, Lopez is a vet who is good to have in your locker room. MCW is my least favorite guy in the league. Man, this team will be so different next year.

It's not "quantity of players" that wins you games. You need players who can actually play and help you win. The Timberwolves did better when LaVine and Dunn were on the bench.

Give me next week's lotto numbers since you know so much.
Fine. Over/under 60 wins for the Bulls over the next 2 years. Can we speculate that far?

Next couple of years are a complete write-off.

Otto Porter is great as your 4th best player. Otto Porter is horrible if you're paying him $100m and hoping he becomes one of your best players.

Ok, so to my original point. Since 1999 and through the next 2 "write-off years" the Bulls will have given the fans 1 championship contending team in 20 years....with a very bleak and uncertain future and the same management team that got us here moving forward...it's a sad time for a Bulls fan.

Lopez/Lauri/Felicio
Lauri/Portis
Porter (Otto)/Zipser
LaVine/Denzel
Dunn/Rondo or we get someone like Beverly
That's a pretty interesting team. We suddenly become really athletic, long and have plenty of shooters. Extremely young though, and likely to miss out on the playoffs, but I don't think we'd be a bottom 5 team though for fans of anyone from next seasons draft class.
Yup....folks havent got the memo yet. This team WILL NOT TANK.
Nor any other version of the Bulls. Reinsdorf (SR.) has to sign off on that. Its not going to happen. Not intentionally at least.
It's a real bad team, the term tank team is subjective, but most likely its gonna be worst case if they don't clear out more talent, as in really bad but not bottom 3. Utter disaster outcome.
Going after someone like Beverly now would be so counter productive.
You don't think the team I proposed could make some noise in the Eastern Conference? I'm surprised. That's isn't a team void of talent if we someone manage to get Porter or Beverly. Sure, it's lacking a true star player, but we don't know what Dunn, LaVine or even Lauri's true potential is as players, they are all so young.
Why so serious?

The other downside of this trade is that no one on this board can spell Markkanen without looking it up first.

Think there is like 6 GMs that have been with their team as long as Paxson, all but one have delivered titles.

The real question is...do we actually use the TPE this time or let it expire?

So you are already deciding how good guys that have not even been drafted yet will be by the time their rookie deals are up?

Otto Porter is great if he can play next to a star.
Unfortunately none of those are on our horizon.

Good trade. Jimmy couldn't even get 1 win against Bos without Rondo. Not a superstar. We have a 0% chance to beat GS the next two years. Then we have to pay him $200 million?
Finally the Bulls are proactive like we should've been with Deng and others and people are mad? SMH.
Thibs is horrible with rookies, give Dunn a chance before writing him off. Lavine is pretty good and Lauri could be great.
So happy we're not running out the same group as last year.

So what you're saying is a team who sucked, sucked even harder when these players we acquired were playing... which means they really suck.
Especially because the team statistically managed to play respectably in KAT, Wiggins, and Dieng's minutes.
