Golden State will hang it but more people will be wearing Curry Jerseys in the crowd during that ceremony.

So if the Nets thing implodes he could end up here.

I'd also not rule out him trying to end it in DC, bring a title to his hometown Bullets and then ride off into the sunset.

Wow, it's crazy to think that a player as legendary as KD could retire without a single team retiring his number due to his mercenary/vagabond nature.

Warriors will retire KD's jersey. Lacob said as much

He may not be an NBA "legend" but we may see this happen to Ray Allen.
Bucks tenure was too short, Sonics don't exist anymore, Boston is salty about how he left and Maimi was only a cup of coffee even though he hit a legendary Finals shot.

Ray Allen is the definition of an NBA legend & is widely acknowledged as a top 3 shooter of all-time

He will always be known as a Milwaukee Buck, and will see his jersey retired there

Sorry I don't want to get lost in semantics. Ray Allen is obviously a Legend, KD is on another level.. that was where I was coming from, but lets ignore that. Ray Allen = NBA Legend.

I am just not sure if Milwaukee retires his jersey. Should they? Probably. But there is a chance it doesn't happen.

* Looking at their list of retired jerseys they probably do it. I thought they were stingy like the Bulls, but they have like a dozen retired numbers already.

Durant will be known as an OKC player first & foremost & will obviously have his jersey retired there

He's an interesting figure, solely for the fact that he represents the NBA's dark yrs: the prototypical early 00's 'murican AAU archetype kid that literally destroyed NBA ratings for over a decade. Basically the Lebron James disciples, and literally none of them were big global money draws compared to the titans of the 90s

Thank goodness that period is over with, for good. When that gen retires completely, we'll see the NBA absolutely explode into a truly dominant global entity. It's already begun, in fact.

Who knows? I don't think that he would go on national TV and just throw that out there. Say what you want, but Stephen A is plugged in....:dontknow:
Wait what? Stephen A constantly throws out random **** and is almost always wrong. Everything he says is for ratings and clicks, not because he has any insider info.

That happens with almost every insider. How many times we've heard rumors from them that turned out to be a nothing burger? I've seen Windhorst go on national TV and say something as well that doesn't happen. Rumors are just that and doesn't mean that it wasn't true because it doesn't happen.

Impossible.

1) Boozer was FIVE-years guaranteed and closer to the max salary (at the time).

2) Boozer was on a clear decline in Utah before he came to Chicago. DeRozan just finished one of his best seasons and evolved his game entirely in SAS. Boozer devolved from a 3D low-post scorer to just a high-post pick-and-pop threat, and not even a good shooter by the time he was amnestied.

Even then, Boozer helped us win 60 games for 2 seasons, and he was still pretty good in year 3. So what's the worst thing that'll happen here, if we have a 3y Boozer?

I think Wade and Pau were fine signings. Wade was disappointing from a different angle (turned out the Bulls farm was absolutely atrocious, and the coach was indeed bad). You can afford a defensive dud if his offense is all-star caliber; problem was Boozer had some alarming FG% declines.

We just picked up all-star offensive talent. We've been watching G-League talent initiate plays since 2017. It's an upgrade, on Reinsdorf's dime. I'll enjoy it.

Obviously he won't be a complete copy of Boozer.

Boozer was a good player for the Bulls for a couple years but he played poor defense, scored from the midrange/post, had a big contract and became an albatross as he aged.

Boozer soon became bulls fans whipping boy, even when he put up a 27/12 night fans would criticize him for his poor defense. He was known as a bum slayer.

My prediction is Demar will get this treatment in a year

Well, no doubt that much of this board is going to complain about DeRozan when our record is +500 and he's averaging 20/7/7 or so. They're gonna crucify him for his slow help defense. Vucevic couldn't even get through 20 games before getting rammed by the Bulls bus. $6m Pau made two all-star games at grandfather age and the Bulls mob still wanted to dump him for a Campbell's soup can.

But those fans would rather get punted in the 1st round with a last-rated offense with Noah passing the ball to Hinrich, so I'm not sure I jive with that crowd. I'll take the offense as it comes and costs. This team has been deprived of offensive talent since 1998, to be honest. Besides the really, really broken 14-15 team (Rose, Jimmy, Pau), this is going to be the first time we have 3 advanced scorers on 1 team.

Boozer was supposed to be the 2nd best player on that team and help compete against the Heat, instead he was the 3rd sometimes 4th best player. He was also the consolation prize when the Bulls failed to get any of what would be the Miami big 3. This situation is slightly different. Bulls didn't sign Derozan to a max contract out of desperation when KD turned the Bulls down. They identified him and recruited him to the Bulls. He was an unexpected signing not a fall back option.

There's plenty of guys in the league who fit this profile and dont need $28mil/yr @ 31+yrs old.

I do want to say, as someone who has been a die hard since the middle/late 80s, this is the first time I have been excited to watch a Bulls team in some time. And I was a guy who watched every 'baby bull' game in the late 90s/early 2000s waiting for that **** to pop off! So as much as I hate this move, I'm equally as pumped about them doing SOMETHING for once.

How many floor spacers do you need? In the starting lineup, we are projected to have Lonzo, Pat, Zach and Vuc who all shoot close to .400 from 3. Then having DeRozan who is one of, if not the most efficient isolation players in the mid-post, that to me seems like a perfectly balanced offensive team right there, with ample spacing.

At the end of the day, you can relying on 3 point shooting all throughout the game, you need to be able to score from all over the floor.

The potential problem is that PWill and Lonzo may not be great shooters.

Lonzo has been at 37% which isn't bad but really isn't good anymore (unless you're an on-ball guy like Trae/Doncic/Harden).

PWill was at a pretty nice 39% but the volume was low.

To fully unlock the offense, we'd ideally have a true shooting specialist out there (other than Lavine).

Lonzo shoots 40% on catch and shoot opportunities. He's a good shooters.

Lonzo became a very good catch-and-shooter I agree with that.

The problem is he's a bit streaky shooter and injury-prone. Besides those traits I believe in his shooting.
