I think it’s time to give up on the LaVine trade ideas. If it happens before the season it still likely won’t be any time soon.

You clearly aren’t paying attention then. The Pelicans already had CJ McCollum and they just acquired DeJounte Murray. Why would they want another shooting guard? And no one of those guys is a starting SF. Only Bulls do dumb stuff like that.

Re: Potential Zach Trade Partners? Playoff Edition.
Little trade idea I was playing around with on fanspo's trade machine:
Bulls receive:
Bogdan Bogdanovic (NJ)
Rui Hachimura (LAL)
Gabe Vincent (LAL)
Lakers receive:
Zach LaVine (Chi)
Dorian Finney (NJ)
Nets receive:
D'Angelo Russell (LAL)
Jarred Vanderbilt (LAL)
Torrey Craig (Chi)
Throw picks to Nets from whatever teams to make it more appealing to them.
Lakers get their 3rd 'star' plus a terrific 3nD player to play next to AD.
Nets lose some offensive talent to help their tank and get Russell back to help lead the way.
Bulls get some vets that probably won't move the needle in and upward direction but will provide a scoring punch plus an expiring in Bogdan.
Worth noting that this trade can't be completed until after 6th of September due to trade restrictions with Bogdanovic.

I don’t think the Lakers want Zach anymore or at least they don’t want him for anything Chicago has proposed. Considering the strong ties to Klutch it would have happened by now. Not to say that they couldn’t change their minds in the future(I hope many teams will).

I hope Lavine gets traded soon but I doubt it. I think it will happen right after before
training camp when GMs are done with draft/FA/Summer league and can really look
over there rosters and try to make there team a little stronger before training camp and the season starts.

I'm fine trading Lavine, but if keeping him means we get a FRP that we won't get now, screw that.

League Circles wrote:I find it very hard to believe the click bait toxicity narratives about the relationship between Zach's "camp" and the team for these reasons:
1. The Bulls org has now given Zach Lavine two large contract extensions that were questionable, including one for the max by the current management. Since then he's mostly played very well when healthy, and his health issues have not been catastrophic or chronic. So easy to believe they still see significant on court potential value in him.
2. The Bulls just signed another Klutch player to a 3 year deal.
3. The Bulls have been extremely accommodating of another large contract Klutch guy in Lonzo Ball.
Not saying there isn't any beef, especially between Zach and Billy, I just think it's likely overstated by people who need to phrase things in a certain way to sell ads.
Because teams that have given out max contracts to players have never seen that relationship go south and the player want to change teams?

Yes, but to my understanding, less dramatically immediately than last time because they negotiated cap smoothing into the latest CBA.

You'd likely need to trade multiple 1sts to get him.

Blazers might want their pick back just for flexibility sake.
LaVine+POR25FRP
For
Ayton+Matisse
This doesn't seem unreasonable to me especially since they have Reap, Clingan, RW3.
Portland getting yet another SG would be amusing.

Ingram I hope doesn’t come here trade him to Atlanta.
Come on Murray recruit LaVine again

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Re: Potential Zach Trade Partners? Playoff Edition.
Don't claim they can just make another trade but
There is no way they want to end up with Gabe Vincent AND Jevon Carter together on the bench almost never playing. Take a look at the and they're virtually the same player it's just that Carter makes $6.5M and Vincent makes $11,5M. Best for the Bulls would be moving Carter and signing Javonte Green to play more for half what Carter makes
try looking at the consequences of the trades you want to make and consider what teams are left with, it's not all balancing the trade machine

There has to be a trade there with BKN. They have nothing on their roster even resembling a #1 option.
Send them Zach and take back Simmons contract and picks of some sort.

I'm going to start with the assumption that the Bulls would be willing to simply exchange Zach for Simmons to get off his contract (and I guess to get a year-long look at whether they can rehabilitate Simmons, but not really). So, the fact that it hasn't happened yet suggests that Brooklyn would prefer to simply let Simmons expire, rather than take on Zach's deal, let alone include any draft compensation to acquire Zach.

At this rate, I'd be fine with a Zach for Simmons swap cuz I know there would guaranteed be picks attached to simmons lol.

Co-signed. Simmons plus picks would be a pretty favorable outcome because, while Simmons can be a headcase, he's immensely talented. Maybe we could get Simmons to sign a cheap deal, but even if he walks, the picks would be compensation enough.

The Nets are tanking. They are not going to attach picks to Simmons's expiring contract to move it.

The only way I could see them doing it was if there was some sort of relationship explosion, but tend to agree.
