I think the Bears could easily win 11 games.

Good stress free win today. If you can run the ball like that, you'll win a lot of games. Let's see if they can keep that going.

I don't know what Dennis Allen does on defense to create all these turnovers, but it's kind of unreal. Is it just luck, or what?

What did we have, 4 sacks today? That's not bad. Sweat with a strip sack- he graded out well last week too. Maybe he's returning to form.

Yeah Swift looks like he's just fine- no need to consider using a high pick on a RB or making some kind of desperation trade.

We may need to trade for a CB though, if Stevenson's injury is serious. Nice pick by Nashon Wright- just when you're ready to write him off, he does something like that.

4-7 the rest of the way would also certainly be disappointing

Yeah, the only way it wouldn't be massively disappointing is if all 4 wins are against the division. Sweeping the Packers and getting revenge against Minn and Det would certainly be a consolation prize to another below .500 season, but the Bears should strive to do a little better than that.

wonder if a 4-2 team has ever been that big a dog to a 1-5 team in league history

Unless the Ravens were supplied with a magical defensive potion over their bye week, i can't see them covering as 6.5 favorites over anyone.

they only allowed 17 points to against the rams while being without key players on defense and having a piss poor offense. Them being bad on defense in the first4/5 weeks is one of the biggest shocks of the nfl so far, if not THE biggest. I don't think it would be a good idea to assume that we will be facing the version that allowed 30+ ppgs. Hopefully, they didn't get it fully together, but i would expect a drastic improvement in their defensive performance moving forward.

going forward, if I'm being very conservative, the season plays out something like this

Ravens: L
Bengals: W
Giants: W
Vikings: W
Steelers: L
Eagles: L
Packers: L
Browns: W
Packers: W
49er: L
Lions: :L

That's a 9-8 record. But I think there are very solid games to add a few more Ws. The steelers offense hasn't be anything special. The 49ers are probably only going to get more injured. The Lions can lose because anything can happen in a division game. Packers are trash so we sweep.

I think the worst case is 9-8, but I can definitely see us winning a game or two we aren't supposed to.

Oh, I'm not banking on that being the case. But based on what we know at this point, i certainly wouldn't be rushing to lay that many points.

One thing about Caleb that is disappointing is how few plays he makes once he leaves the pocket. that was his strength in college, but so far in the NFL, anytime he doesn't get the ball out in the first 3-4 seconds, you know that almost nothing good is going to happen. It reminds me a lot of our last QB.

He should watch game film of Aaron Rodgers, who just slides around in the pocket, all the while having his eyes downfield. Never seems in a hurry. Caleb is just the opposite- he looks panicky back there. I wish that would change because with his ability to elude people, he could really do some damage on those plays, because eventually guys have to be getting open.

The injury concerns with Jayden Daniels and his slight frame and propensity to run are proving to be well founded.

Eddy Pineiro with a 55 yarder. I think he hit one from 59 a week or two ago.

He pulled a hammy. I tend to also worry about his slight frame, but I’m not sure this specific injury has anything to do with it.

I don't know that suspect is the term that I used to describe Caleb as a prospect other than the fact that i suspected that he would take 2-3 years to develop provided that he was in the right situation. The struggles that he's demonstrated haven't bothered me as much as it has some people because I sort of saw it coming. But just as I saw these struggles, I also saw the talent that would allow him to overcome them. And I'm still confident in that. If we remain patient, we (and he) will be fine.

Aaron Rodgers is his favorite QB. I still think it’s a strength of Caleb, but he just has to develop it at an NFL level. And I don’t think the beating he took his rookie year helps him not panic.

I want to see this Bears D with Jaylon Johnson and Booker back and healthy. Think we could see a dominant D even against good offenses.

Add in our new run game and we are trending the right direction.
