Horrible trade for the Warriors.
They'll figure out something with Wiggins. The pick alone is as valuable as Russel. It might be the double HS year and Minny will always suck.

That was a great trade for the Warriors, they got a potentially very good wing player ( yes ,I still believe he can play much better for a better coach and in a better ambient) in Wiggins and sent a player who wouldn't be starting after the return of Curry and Kley.I never believed DLo would play in San Francisco for a long time.

I'll take nothing over the fear of Drummond either signing an extension here or picking up his option (which seems more likely now). Terrible deal by the Cavs IMO.

When are they going to start real conversations about changes in the front office? - Charles Weidenburner, via Facebook

Widespread speculation, including here, has the Bulls contemplating changes this offseason. As for the conversations, surely Jerry and Michael Reinsdorf exchange dialogue during the season. But there’s still strong belief in executive vice president John Paxson. If there are changes, I’d expect a different title for Gar Forman, a revamp of the scouting department and a new voice from outside the organization to run day-to-day duties but report to Paxson. But other than ownership’s belief in Paxson, this is speculation on my part.

It’s past time to revamp the entire front office. I’m honestly surprised Pax doesn’t want to step down, and wouldn’t be surprised if he actually did in the offseason. The Bulls need a deep cleaning, an exorcism, something to rid the franchise of the rot that has taken over.

Ownership can always find some circumstances to use to excuse those currently employed, but they need to realize that a good executive creates their own circumstances. At some point the consistent failing, the consistent injury problems, the lack of any improvement needs to be addressed.

I feel like it is one of those "good on paper" but bad in reality trades. Wiggins is a losing player. Kudos to Minny for unwinding 2 bad contracts (Wiggins and separately Dieng).

Make the team better.OMG

For those of you about to say but Otto is hurt why would the Warriors want him? Everyone is hurt in GS and its about next year not this year. Curry/Klay/Otto/Green is a pretty good team ready to play next year.

I think the factor you need to consider is that Wiggins (good or bad) doesn't have a player out next season where Otto (who could still come back and be great this season and decide to opt out).

Or decide to opt in, playing another season for this losing group but getting a great amount of money for his contract.

The Warriors flipped a guy that they signed with the intention of flipping, that they knew wasn’t a good fit with Curry and Klay, for a likely good pick, and a guy that looks like he could fit well or a gig they can flip next season.

I don’t love this trade for the Warriors, but I like it.

For Minnesota, they got the guy they wanted last year but had to pay the team that had kidnapped him.

The trade for Russell was always about getting assets back rather than losing KD for nothing.

I have a feeling this trade is just a continuation, I don't think GS sees Wiggins replacing KD. I wouldn't be surprised if Wiggins and that Minny 1st rounder gets moved again at some point maybe next year. Everyone's #s go up in GS with all the gravity Steph & Klay generate, he'll get better #s and gain some value there.

Agreed. He’s a really good fit. Also gives the clips yet another really take no bullsh*t guy. He can defend and has the ability to get his own shot.

The Clips are going to be so so tough to beat in the playoffs if they can get a chemistry going going into the playoffs.

The Clips have a real old school feel to their team, and I absolutely love it.

Hoping for Clips/Heat finals with Bucks being eliminated early and Clips winning.

Oh would the pitch forks come out if Jimmy lead a young team to the finals.

Absolutely.

Only thing I can think of is that they think a change of scenery and being in a winning system will magically fix him. :dontknow:

I really believe that is the case.Warriors' FO are much intelligent for doing wrong in this trade.I'll watch them more closely,I believe Wiggins will prove many fans wrong blossoming in a very good player in Kerr's system.

The season started with optimism that the bulls would definitely make the playoffs and play well. They obviously didn’t but even though they weren’t horrible the record was still pretty bad. First I thought they would just get a new coach with these players. Didn’t happen. Then I thought ok since Boylen is staying then for sure they will shake up the roster even before the deadline, nothing. Deadline just passed, again nothing. I really don’t understand wtf they are doing. This team needed some type of change, try something!

This isn’t the first time though.Pax has always failed to make trades to improve his teams even during the Rose years. Always just afraid or unwilling to make changes and never creative enough for this job.

Does that mean they’re going somewhere fast......

Seriously though. This team is dead until they get a real coach that isn’t actively harming players values and confidence... and until they finally make serious changes within the front office. Even if Reinsdorf could point to a reason that Pax or Gar aren’t to blame for the problems, they’ve been here past their expiration date the stink has set in and it’s time to throw them out.

They will say exactly this, there was no move worth making and can’t just trade just to trade. Also that they still like the roster and will use the injury excuse again.

It was to be expected because we know their tendencies, but by any measure, it is unbelievable that the Bulls sat this deadline out.
