And if Jimmy actually had any offense game then the Bulls might not have got bounced 4-1 to Miami.

Jimmy led the team in scoring in that series and had a TS% of 58%.

This is like debating with 8 year olds.

I'm glad you are finding some happiness tonight with your superior memory of Butler's career. I'm happy with the overall direction the organization is taking and you are not so YOU lose overall as a Bulls fan.. Have a good night!

Guys, let's not be douchebags because what's the point? We're all fans here and it's an emotional night. If you can't clean it up, we'll be giving out temporary suspensions so that you can take a breather.

They'll be a playoff team. And they have a lot of potential. They just gotta play D.

They are not getting past the Warriors or Spurs depending on what happens with Aldridge.

That leaves 28 teams with no hope. Including the Celtics who are going to go out and sign a max fa. Why waste the money? Why even ahve the games? Just have the finals next year.

Terrible logic that ruins the game.

Cowley a few hours ago.

Bulls general manager Gar Forman is either playing the ultimate game of trade chicken or has no intention of looking to deal star player Jimmy Butler.

That was the feeling from several NBA front offices Wednesday as the asking price for Butler remained “basically unobtainable.’’

GarPax are the one's that chickened out, swerved off the road right into a telephone pole.

They don't trade for lavine without sound medicals

Intrigued by Merc. No idea really

Wish we could have kept the 16 pick. We suddenly got young and can SHOOT

Everyone knows Gar is a snake. The guy just lies and lies. He is going to give you a stupid story about "We really valued Jimmy and it was tough to move him....but we really like the players we got in return"

Book it.

Disappointed in the trade haul, but I'm glad we have seemingly picked a direction. Hopefully two of these three guys can become high level starters.

Now the Bulls just have to refrain from overpaying a free agent to land us back into mediocrity. Stay the course. Let the young guys grow, and get a high pick next year.

2017-2018 season - 26-56, coach and front office still stay the same and say they have a plan, Reinsdork say he loves the fans and please stay patient. Still filling the UC with suckers no matter the record. This team is officially neck and neck with the Bears as the biggest Chicago jokes and one of the biggest train wrecks in all of sports. Puke

I love to see Gar get fired as well, but he seems to be bulletproof. I hope Paxson takes a more active role in personnel decisions going forward.

His market value was much lower than you think and for reasons that should be obvious; If this board can easily rationalize why Butler should be traded now since his value dropped last year, and before his value completely tanks next summer with 1 yr remaining on his deal....what do you think people who are paid millions of dollars are doing sitting in their various offices around the league?

It wasn't a homerun for the Bulls but I think it was fine and probably the best they could do given Butler's diminishing market value. The Bulls also have the bonus of probably getting another high lottery pick next year, the potential finality of putting Hoiberg through the fire with young moldable players who fit his agenda, and savings. Exactly one year from now the Bulls would have with Butler the same situation as Paul George now: a star with a tanked trade value. And they were not paying Butler 200 Mil to stay here in 2019, nor should they have ever considered it. His departure was inevitable and this was the best they could get. Not great, but not bad. This really was the last chance for a proper rebuild and they actually did it. Kudos to them, honestly...and I'm not saying this as a fan of theirs.

You have to be disappointed in the haul. Trading Butler for an expiring contract wouldn't have given you value far off from what we got given that a.) Dunn most likely can't play b.) LaVine is a poor on court/off court player coming off major injury who is due for a big contract based more on "potential" than helping a team wind c.) Markannen should be a good role player, but appears to have a low likelihood of being a true building block of consequence.

If I'm to be disappointed, who am I to be disappointed in? This was the reality for Butler's current trade value. The expectations on this board did not match the perception of the rest of the league. The Bulls got what they could and now can rebuild with some assets instead of none, while likely being a lottery team next year as well. Its time for them to stack chips.
