It took the to overtime to beat Seattle with Geno Smith at QB.

Without Russ, Seattle is a bottom 5 team. Pittsburgh is really freaking bad. Big Ben is cooked.

How do people feel about DeMeco Ryans? SF is 16th in DVOA this year, 6th last year (with a **** of injuries) and 2nd in the year before. The Bears took a step back on defense until this year because Fangio was so good and Pagano was just average but Dasai has really gotten off to a hot start for us.

Kittle will be out against us and they still haven't solidified their running game yet. If Hicks is back in the rotation by then, the Bears should be a decent favorite in that game.

I think 49er fans are mostly happy with Ryans. Our top CB tore his ACL week 1, and our #2 CB missed the first couple of games.

Ryans caught flak after the Packers game because we blew coverages on back-to-back plays that allowed them to get into FG range for the game-winner.

Against Seattle, the defense started the game with five 3-and-outs, but the offense couldn't capitalize. And our kick returner fumbled a return and set up Seattle immediately in the RZ.

Defense was excellent at Arizona, holding the Cards to 17 points.

Niners will probably finish top 10 on defense by the end of the year.

Offense is still wonky. Jimmy G has been figured out by D--coordinators, i.e. he doesn't throw deep and he doesn't throw outside the numbers. Clutter the middle of the field where he thrives. And running game is still getting its footing after Mostert got injured on the second play of the season.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

Man, Eddie Jackson is getting into it with the ex-Bears.

It started with Lance Briggs saying this:

Peanut chimed in just now and Olin went through Lance's huge plays during the playoffs on Twitter.

Eddie really needs to squash this because Lance really wasn't out of line - he's doing his job and telling the truth about Eddie's play.

Saying this right now, I hate how many hits he allows Allen to take. That's Cam Newton pt 2, would really hate to see Justin hit so much.

And he's a Patriots guy at his foundation. Those guys haven't been **** as head coaches. Joe Judge is a massive turd, McDaniels shipped out Cutler from day 1 because he wanted Matt Cassell, Flores is sinking, Mangini sucked, Matt Patricia was a moron and and ass, Bill O'Brien was part of a clownshow, Jim Schwartz was a jag who lost a lot, Charlie Weis was terrible in college and Romeo Crenel flopped repeatedly. Most of these guys were giant **** who quickly lost their locker room.

Dabol started with Bill, followed Mangini around, went back to Bill and then to Saban before landing in Buffalo. There's a good % that he's a jag.

Very questionable decision by Sean McDermott at end of the game. 20 sec left, 4th and half a yard, ball at TEN 3 yard line. Down 3. You kick an easy fg and go to OT. Instead went for it on 4th down, tried a QB sneak, his foot slipped, he got buried. Game over. Maybe they figured a loss wasn't really going to hurt them that badly, and they didn't want to play another quarter of football and risk injury or something. I don't know, but if you think you are the better team, why not take your chances in OT. Even if they made the first down they still had to punch it in from the 2 with only 20 secs left and 2 TO. Maybe the odds were in their favor, but seemed foolish to me.

I’d be lying if i said i wasn’t concerned about Fields pocket awareness, or his ability not to throw the ball away when necessary. Though i believe those a re fixable, i wish he would learn to fix it now. I do thin the accuracy is there, but he needs to process it faster.

Also, Justin really needs to learn that not all plays are winnable. Gotta stop taking deep sacks and getting us out of field goal range.

PIT also beat Denver and Buffalo.

EJax has always been a terrible tackler. It’s his lack of INTs and splash plays that is finally catching up with him.

Outside of JJ, not much to get excited about in our secondary. Defense is being carried by that front 7.

Rogers just called Olin soft for saying he wanted to punch Rogers in the mouth. Paraphrasing.

For Rodgers, it’s easy to take the comments light hearted, because he won most of the time. Rodgers is saying the fans and Olin can’t take those comments as rivalry banter. Olin and the bears were on the receiving end of those beat downs. Rodgers is an ass for saying that and in general (look at the off season drama), and displays poor sportsmanship. He is rubbing salt on wounds. Like scoring a TD at the end of the game instead of taking a knee, when you are up a lot already.

I’m glad Olin actually cares about winning and has some pride as a former Chicago bear. I’m not saying he should punch him, but damn right he should be angry. Unlike the currents bears, who have not said anything. The only bears player who was pissed off was probably akiem hicks. And probably Justin fields, but he is still a puppy who is in potty training compared to Rodgers.

There’s nothing the Bears players need to say or respond with. Get the W at Green Bay

That would be great, but I’ll believe it when I see it. Also, i am not sure if a single win means that much. I would like for the bears to dominate for the next decade over them, then no words are needed.

Hard question:

Ahead of the of league trade deadline on 2 Nov at 4 PM EST would you trade any pieces from our O or D units to recoup some draft capital? It is a lost season anyway with the only upside Fields' development.

I would try:

1. To trade Arob for a 2nd
2. To trade Mack for a 2nd & 5th.

Thoughts?

Call me an optimist, but I think we can beat the Bucs. I dont think they have a great Run defense, and if our secondary can keep Brady honest, I think we have an upset shot.

I dont follow the FL that closely beyond the bears but they supposedly have the best run defense in the league statistically with less than or right ar 3 yards per carry.

I was optimistic we'd beat the Packers.

I'm optimistic that we wont get boat raced by the Bucs. But that optimism was instilled prior to Quinn being out with Covid.

Just hope the offense and Fields plays better than they have all season at this point.

Another pass rusher can step up. We beat them last year and we can do it again.

Ok that was the optimistic personality in me. We have little chance of winning but it doesn't have much to do with Quinn being out. So many other issues going on with this team right now from a rookie QB that isn't up to speed yet to a secondary who tends to miss on plays to a coaching staff who continues to put the team in difficult situations.

Prove me wrong Bears. That leash is getting short.

I don’t think they’ve faced a good Run team outside of Dallas week 1. We might be the next best one they’ve faced so far. But if Fields gives them a good game, and cut out the small errors then I think we have something to watch for. I’m just hoping for 3 scores at least too.

Also, the Packers game was bad because we did have a legitimate chance to win all game. We were never really out of it until the end. We need to come out strong again.
