Imagine a world where Chicago had a knowledgeable Bears FO that knew what they were doing and/or listened to experienced successful people like John Fox and just went ahead and drafted him. Hiring the hotshot names, out of the box thinkers and unaccomplished assistants is for smarter outfits to execute. The Bears need proven decision makers and coaches badly.

Explain the Bears record over the past 3 years.

And how is John Fox doing since leaving the Bears? He was 13-34 while he was here, Nagy's 28-20.

Maybe you don’t see a problem here, but the rest of Chicago does. John Fox Superbowl Champion had to carry that problem on his back. John Fox had the right answer from the very beginning and none of this would be happening.

nagy was hired for his supposed offensive acumen and was forced to give up his play calling duties. he will very likely never again be a head coach after his tenure with the bears. i have more faith in ryan pace than i do in nagy. and i don't have much faith in pace

Sounds like this is about done. Foles, Cohen and our FRP for Wentz. Pace is asking to be fired.

Read on Twitter

we're going to get baited into trading a first for a qb with a massive contract who played so poorly he got benched for a second round rookie

i'm not saying a wentz trade can't work out for the bears. but i will reiterate that the thing i felt most strongly about after the season ended is "ryan pace should not be in charge of making a major qb decision"

I refuse to believe the bears will give up a first for Wentz. His value is too low. Plus, his contract is so big we won't be able to add around him

This front office is as dense as it gets.

I think wherever Wentz goes, he'll be back to his old form but they benched him last season. If they trade a 1st for him a division win and Superbowl Appearance is a must for Pace and Nagy to keep their jobs.

Talent-wise, I absolutely think Wentz is worth a 1st. But once you add his contract, injury history, the fact that the Eagles don't have much leverage because everyone knows Hurts is the guy, and his poor play last season significantly brings down his value.

Foles, Miller, and a 2nd I think is fair. I don't think anyone is offering more than a 2nd for Wentz

Ultimately the end of the line, what we would be getting for three 1sts, two 3rds, and two 4ths, is....one Carson Wentz. But it’s better than four firsts, two 3rds, and two 4ths.

my hope is that the Eagles are leaking that the bears are offering cohen foles and a 1st so other teams increase their offers but in reality, the bears are not offering a stupid amount

Carson Wentz had the worst completion percentage of deep throws in the NFL last year.

Trubisky was second.

Yay for upgrade and giving up massing amounts of salary and draft capital to do it.

Looks like it's real, Cohen wiped his IG. If we get their 2nd back, it's trading 20 for 37.

A Wentz trade probably also means so significant cuts. We'd be more than 10mil in the negative after that trade.

Wentz will be good here and anywhere but a 1st and a dynamic player like Cohen is too much

In his defense, Wentz I think is usually pretty good on deep balls. I expect (hope for) Mooney to be a more dangerous weapon and it could keep a safety out of the box more often with Wentz and Mooney if all goes well.

the foles trade looked awful before we found out that he gave up a lot of his guaranteed money to make it happen, which made it only marginally bad. this looks bad right now, but let's wait for full details

if we give up this year's pick, watch a QB prospect drop to 20

I think they will either restructure his contract or the Eagles will eat a lot of the money. I don't care who is at 20 the bears need to keep their 1st

speaking of getting baited, pace was basically baited into taking a gamble like this by being allowed to remain on the job another season

Tarik!

Hopefully it’s just the Eagles drumming up noise.
