This is just dumb. Why are you so focus on zach getting 40+million dollars?
The purpose of being a bulls fan is to collect 3 allstars for a big 3, not give your favorite player more than the other guy.
I hoped Lavine did not make the all star so AK could lowball him and keep Lauri while adding 2 max but sadly my scenario failed.
Now AK has no choice but to all in next yr before his 40mil kicks in. Ideally they trade Lauri for KP and someone like Lowry to form a big 3.

Meh KP and Lowry doesn’t make a big 3. Lowry needs to be on a team that contends today. With Zach in the fold though it opens up more possibilities, other stars are going to be more willing to come here, ones that aren’t obvious today but may be after this season. We sold Butler too soon and would have been in sweepstakes for a guy like AD... now likely it wouldn’t have happened but we could have at least been in the game. More opportunities like that will unfold, they do all the time now but you need at least one star, which we officially now have again.

Knowing what we know now. We traded Butler at the right time. I’d rather have Zach the next 5 years than Jimmy.

And it’s not like any big time FAs have ran to go down to Miami with Jimmy.

Knowing what we know now the ideal situation would have been finding a way to keep Butler and traded for Zach somehow. He was oddly the throw in for that deal, it was supposed to be Wiggins. Zach and But,er likely would have coexisted well enough, Zach has a Jimmy like work ethic. A Jimmy groomed Zach would have been even better, I mean Zach had Boylen in his ear, Butlers influence would have been way more impactful.

Knowing what we know now, we know GAR/PAX wasn’t capable of keeping Jimmy and getting Zach Lavine. As you said they didn’t even want Zach initially and wanted Wiggins. Damn near walked away from the deal due to Wiggins not being offered, and “settled” on Zach. Everything worked out for the Bulls. We got a potential superstar AND a trade chip in Lauri. I do not miss Jimmy and if hindsight was 20/20 I’d do the deal again. The way things panned out Zach has proven he would’ve been worth trading “straight up” for Jimmy.

I like Jimmy but he’s not a DPOY, Champion, or MVP. Nor is he top 5 or ever has been in any stat. Zach has the potential to be better he’s 25.

On the one hand, there's no way Zach signs the extension and gives up $51M. All the we're all family on this team goes out the window for that much money. On the other hand the Bulls are justified in trading him because of that $51M difference that Zach will take over any supposed loyalty to the Bulls for matching the SAC offer when he was a FA and sticking by him while he was recovering from surgery when they got him.

Zach isn’t getting traded and he will deserve every penny he gets. Get over it! Only the most delusional anti-Zach fans would believe he would extend for slightly more than he is making now. I think Zach deserves a allstar selection, but I did not hope for it.

I also don't think building around Zach going forward is a bad idea.

Maybe I'm crazy, but for the last few weeks I have been watching the netflix series good girls, and the character "Rio" played by Manny Montana reminds me a little of Zack in looks.

Does anyone else see a slight resemblance?

I might not be good at this type of stuff, back in the 90's I used to tell one of my white friends he looked like and reminded me of Charles Barkley. Everyone thought I was crazy. and then one day another person who knew us both agreed. Maybe it was not just on looks alone, but presence.

I also told a co-worker he reminded me Kendal Gill, He thought I was nuts, The way they talked and presented themselves was exactly the same. I put that one on the back burner, and then one day another co-worker and I were talking Bulls, And all of a sudden the other guy said "Ken" Reminds me of Kendall Gill. I was almost in shock that some one else saw it.

I'm happy that LaVine got his 1st All Star berth. I really mean it. He earned it and most of us, including me, knew he was in. I'm on record saying that. However, why are some of y'all bringing up Jimmy Butler and comparing LaVine to him?

WHY? So insecure. Since you guys brought up Butler, has LaVine led the Bulls to the Finals yet? Wake me up if that happens.

I don't get it either. Why would anyone compare Lavine and Butler? I mean they only got traded for each other and play similar positions...

You can make the argument he is already better then Butler.

What is that argument exactly? He is a better natural scorer but I need more than that to displace him being better than Butler. Zach this year at his best still doesn’t get to the finals with that Heat team.

Go to General Board. Make a thread with the title, "LaVine is better than Jimmy Butler."

I wanna see if the GB supports your feelings for LaVine.

Yeah. The general board is usually complete BS. Just trolling each other.

At least the last time I looked. I haven't even glance at it in years.
