Their motivation is that they want to get someone with size. I don't think they're trying to get rid of Lee just for the hell of it.

So more volume drops his percentage to around 37-39%. Yeah, how awful.

his ts% right now is only 53.3%

yes how awful.

Not really. Only if the ''long run'' is the period of time untill the end of this season.

Yea, it will hurt in the long-run. Boozer is only going to get older and we know he's an injury hazard, so having Taj to back him up is valuable. Asik isn't getting many minutes this year but he'll be the prime big man off the bench next year provided he keeps developing. Considering that our main rival's (Miami) prime weakness is the front court, Cliff Levingston sees the FO wanting to stay loaded with quality big men.

You can easily get a better big man than Taj in the summer.

God no. I'm sure the Bulls won't do it, but I'll be fuming beyond belief if they trade Asik for Courtney Lee. I'm sure the Rockets would jump at three first rounders but there's no way we are offering all of them. Woj said just one first, which would probably the better of this year's firsts. I'm sure we'll up the offer to both 2011 firsts if push came to shove. I would strongly consider a Jordan Hill or Patrick Patterson trade with Lee for Asik and a second but the Rockets clearly aren't doing that.

People kill me with this 'you can easily get better....' crap. We're not trading for a superstar here.

A 53.3%TS is not awful. I hope you're not one of the guys campaigning trading three firsts for Mayo when he just got out of the 40's last night in TS.

Sure - but he started for a team that went to the finals - so that has to mean something, right?

He wasn't on the team when they made the finals. I get the point you're trying to make though and it doesn't change that Lee's a quality roleplayer.

Lee plays nothing like Bogans, and without shooting 54% from three this month, Bogans is way below Lee in TS%.

Whats nice about the JJ trade is that means we can trade our 2012 pick. I'm sure the Rockets aren't interested in stockpiling late 1sts in this years weak draft.

it is for someone who should be able to shoot the ball well. we need a scorer.

i thought about that for mayo but mayo is all on potential not performance. this is about lee tho how do you defend a 53.3% ts%??? hes a younger bogans with better defense

Yeah, that's why I really don't see Taj or Asik being moved in the next two days. Maybe someday, for a capstone move, but right now the Bulls are trying to add to what they've already got, not sacrifice a guy they like and get thin in one place to fill a hole somewhere else.

I'm hopeful that we can get Courtney Lee for picks. I don't think it will happen until tomorrow if it does (I think Houston's pushing for something bigger and better), but in the end I think falling back on a Lee for the Charlotte pick deal, from Houston's end, will be enough.

I'm afraid we will have to give up Asik for Lee. Basically this years 1st round picks are equivalent to an average years 2nd round picks. It's just not a good draft, the picks are not worth a whole lot.....

Yep, problem is Houston is doing the same thing though, they want help now, but for two #1's or the Charlotte pick I would think that's way over value and they would take it. :dontknow:

Houston should just go ahead and take the pick and run and use whatever picks they have to make their own trade for big man. Especially if we do end up giving them two picks, its enough picks for Houston to scrape up a big man from somewhere in the league.

If the Bulls think they can just get Lee with one first round pick they're dreaming. Give them multiple firsts because we won't need them for the next 2 years and if they really really won't do the deal without Asik, just give him to them. I want a SG so bad right now. I have to trust in the FO seeing as how they have pulled off some great deals in the past at the trade deadline. I'm confident we will get something done.

Uh, Lee is averaging 7 ppg. Its not like he would be a lottery pick if he was in the draft again. Why should he be worth 2 first round draft picks? That is drastically overpaying. We are in no hurry. We are 22 games over .500 with the current team we have and have an extremely young nucleus. No need to panic and trade 2 first rounders for a guy who can't seem to stick anywhere, I don't think that is a coincidence.

The point is, we DO NOT need these first round picks. The likelihood of somebody that we select with those picks that turns out to be a rotational player for us is slim and none. We could trade away both of those firsts and get somebody that can start for us right away and help us win now. We aren't a team on the decline so it's not important to be stock piling these first round picks together, all they are is trade bait. I suppose one other angle to look at it may be that the Bulls are looking to possibly package those firsts together and move up in the draft but even so, it wouldn't get us into the lottery or anything..
