Has Schanowski reported a Deng/Okafor trade with PHX?

It is illegal under the CBA to just trade a player for salary. You need to have salary coming back in the deal too. Having said that, I would Deng for any expiring and any first round pick -- regardless of how high/low it is.

If Phoenix is far enough under the cap (I think they are), they can just absorb Deng's contract for a draft pick. We would be left with a TPE for the rest of this season. That is how we were able to trade Korver without any salary coming back in the trade.

We likely wouldn't. I'm just saying we would be left with a TPE. But if the FO wanted to, they could use it for a draft day trade (Someone can correct me, because I could be wrong on that part though).

Sorry if someone already pointed this out... but its ironic that Deng was a first round draft pick we acquired from the Suns. This is like the circle of life if it happens.
