can this please be the last melo thread?.... its obvious he never had any intentions of playing for the bulls he only came to Chicago to humor Noah and leverage a better deal from other teams. La La was never going to sign off on Chicago, only New York, LA and maybe Miami... its a hard fact to face but with two teams in LA two teams in the state of New York the only way the bulls will ever get another superstar is the same way we always have gotten our superstar and all star talent through the draft...possibly a trade...I always thought that when all these NBA stars were young they dreamed of being Michael Jordan playing on the Bulls...But in reality they only dreamed about being MJ....

When did Simmons say that? Recently?

Just said it on LeBatard's show.

I mean, worst case scenario for us is apparently adding Mirotic, McDermott and somebody else for ~5mil.

Heat have added Josh McRoberts, broken down Granger, fringe NBA player Garrett Temple and might lose Bosh or James.

Things could be worse

very true. if we walk out of the this summer with dougie, niko, morrow, and resigning DJ, I'd actually be ok with that. That's a pretty solid roster 1 through 10 and a team I can be damn proud to root for...and one that would be pretty competitive, at that. things could be much much worse.

If there was a way to bring Deng back and extend Jimmy then Id be ok with him returning

but as it is I think his money is going to go to Butler

Another piece of the puzzle

The dominoes are falling

Indeed. I can only assume Lebron and Melo were waiting for this sizable domino to fall. Now they await the inevitable aftershocks and for Gray's love handles to stop jiggling. But with this piece in place free agency can get going.

Prediction: Knicks will resign Melo and we'll immediately announce that Nazr has signed a two year deal.

His gut is just processing all the information which makes Chicago the best destination for him for a bball standpoint.

The Melo thread doesn't end until Melo has made his decision and the board has properly vented/celebrated that decision.

Honestly, Bulls fans, if you were forced to re-sign one of these two players to a vet min deal, right now, which one would you choose:
1) Nazr Mohammed
2) Kirk Hinrich

Because you know we're signing both.

Why do people not get this. The entire league only cares about Melo and Bron right now, the rest of the free agents aren't going anywhere, unless you are upset we missed out on getting Granger.

Though I hate to not see the news first hand live, I will still have some sleep and try being a good mum for my kids tomorrow morning (after checking the boards of course)
