Regarding the play in and lottery, how does it work?

Are the teams that finished 9th and 10th still included in the lottery? Even if they make the playoffs via play in tournament?

Or are they removed from lottery if they make it?

I think I know how it works but I'm not certain.

Basically whichever teams that end up in the 7th - 10th spot will go in this play-in tournament. Whether or not they go in the lottery vs playoffs will depend on the outcome of that tournament:

- 7th vs 8th. Winner becomes the 7th seed and makes the playoffs (out of the lottery). Loser faces winner of 9th vs 10th.
- 9th vs 10th. Winner faces loser of 7th vs 8th. Loser goes in the lottery.
- Loser of 7th vs 8th vs Winner of 9th vs 10th. Winner becomes the 8th seed (out of the lottery). Loser goes in the lottery.

So if you finish the season in the 7th/8th spot, you only need 1 win to make the playoffs. If you're in the 9th/10th spot, you need 2 wins to make the playoffs.

How crazy is it that two Cs lead the MVP race? If one of them wins, it’ll be the first time since Shaq 00.

And if AD was healthy he could have been in the race too... I know I know he is a PF but the point stands. There is never a set formula for success and everything evolves.

Knicks getting Rose has been a smart move. He's the extra boost for them thus far.

Go Knicks!!

And what rubs more salt on the wounds is Daniel Gafford is propelling Washington into a winning team with his play. They are 8-1 when Gafford plays. Now won 6 straight. Gafford is a 27PER for them

It’s time to bring D Rose home.....his game is what we need at the PG position now...he might be just as good in a different way now

Yeah would be a great way for him to finish his career with the Bulls. If he were on this team right now he is definitely the starting PG and the way he is playing would really help this team. Hope he signs with the Bulls this summer.

WCJ is a 22 PER player on 28 mpg for ORL too. Maybe the Bulls are the bad guys in all of this. :banghead:

He likely goes where Thibbs goes. Unlikely will be back in Chicago.

What in the world man. Why did these guys play like crap for us? Gafford was pretty much unplayable and WCJ got demoted to the bench. For such “limited” players, how are these guys thriving?

Is having a real point guard who can run a team and get their bigs easy baskets that important? At this rate, Lauri is gonna be a superstar on his next team.

Exactly. Give up that dream Bulls fans. NY has plenty of money, a brighter future, and the coach who has helped him find his greatest success.

I guess we will see. It may not happen this next year but I think Rose finishes his career in Chicago. He’s said it many times that the city of Chicago means everything to him and he has always hinted at coming back at some point down the road. With GarPax out of the picture it does open the door. We’ll see if the Bulls can offer more money, more competitive situation, starting spot, etc. Agreed that Rose loves Thibs and New York has provided a great opportunity for him.

What's the opposite of MIP? The Tyreke Evans and MCW award?

Cause Tyler Herro went from fringe star buzz of the bubble to Lauri/Coby 2.0.

Surprised Boston lost with that monster game from Tatum.

That's crazy he's still using an inhaler from getting covid back in January. :o
