Reaves might put up all-star numbers if he ever gets his own team.

If the play-in didn't exist do you think the Bulls would've tanked awhile ago or still be going for it?

They're 2 games out of 8th spot, they'd 100% be going for it, hell they're probably going for that 8th spot right now. That way they only have to win the 1 game.

I didn't realize they were that close. A month ago how far away were they?

I ask, but I know AK/Billy will fight for the playoffs (down to the last game) even though it might be pointless.

I see 10 interesting prospects in this draft, so let's just not move the the #11 spot-Newell is my favorite at the end of the top 10, but a few guys look promising

It's fine. We need to make space for our play-in banners.

I am to believe Jabari Parker, whose father was an NBA player and set up programs to help inner city youth in Chicago and is still married to Jabari's mother, grew up in the ghetto? Or is he saying he was able to prevent his future family from living in the ghetto?

I got mad respect for Jabari and scoff at the idea that he was somehow a failure. But come on now...

In fairness I think his dad played about 5 years in the league from mid 70's to early 80's? So by the time Jabari is in the league, that money his dad made in the league would have been long gone. Guys like his dad who were in the league weren't making a fortune at that time. Im not sure if they were in the ghetto but I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't have much $$.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Jabari grew up in South Shore, which a lot of people would call the ghetto. I wouldn't, but it's undoubtedly a tough area (I knew a Black woman from the West Side who moved there, then moved out because of its high crime rate), and it is surrounded by even tougher areas. So, I'm not going to ding Jabari points for that one.

Yeah, South Shore was (and isn’t) a safe place, especially 20y ago, before U of C’s expansions.

Remember friends’ apartments getting broken into... but also Italian Fiesta pizza.

It was a wealthy white neighborhood until the 60s before the white flight. Flipped to a predominantly black community in less than a decade. Of course that meant divestment…Mafia set up ponzi schemes and drug operations… So yeah, I’d consider it the ghetto. Broken economy for a single demographic.

Appreciate the info on Jabari's upbringing. I grew up on the west side so not that familiar with the area Jabari is from. Sounds pretty similar to where I grew up though...not the safest but definitely not the ghetto.
